Turns out Saturday wasn’t a total loss for Cal.

Olympic swim star Missy Franklin, who won five medals at the London Games, has committed to attend Cal next fall.

The U.S. women’s team was coached by Cal coach Teri McKeever, and the connection obviously paid off for the Bears.

Here’s the story, including details of Cal’s water polo win over Stanford in the Big Splash.

University of California has beautiful brand new Memorial Stadium, incredible new training facility, top public education in the world, Bay Area location with vast career opportunities surrounding, outstanding weather and much much more.
Missy Franklin is all world and I’m so excited to root for her as a Golden Bear the next two years and throughout her career as a decorated Olympian.
She knows Cal has everything to prepare her for more Gold and getting a few team NC’s along the way can’t hurt.
Outstanding news, welcome to Cal Missy!
    Go Bears
