Milo, classy as usual. Seriously, why exactly do we hope the NCAA comes down on Oregon? They’re doing exactly what illegally? Jealousy and envy are pathetic.

I say good for the Ducks- they’ve built a better mousetrap, they’re super aggressive and play to win. They are doing everything right. The Ducks are everything that Tedford’s Cal Bears are not. I admire and respect the heck of what Chip Kelly and the Ducks continue to accomplish and how they go about doing it. I am not going to take some pious, elitist high ground that somehow Cal does it in so much of a moral fashion than Cal. Pul-leeze.

Actually the margin of victory is considered in a round about way. The BCS formula takes into account points scored and points allowed as a total. By choosing not to run up the score and putting in 2nd and 3rd stringers they’re affecting both of those stats.

The computer polls have Alabama at #3, Oregon at #7. Tell me again why we have computer polls which are dictated by politics rather than accuracy?

Oregon completely let up at the start of the second half – all second and third team guys. Oregon was down 7-0 following a fumble on the first drive. 18 minutes later, they were winning 43-7. They easily could have scored 70 points if they wanted to, and ASU knows it.

Actually, the computers aren’t allowed to take margin of victory into consideration. The human polls already have Oregon ranked no. 2, so their BCS ranking is entirely based on the computer rankings, which penalize them for a soft early schedule. In fact several of the computers have them ranked behind the Beavers, who have played a much tougher schedule.
