I hope we beat the crap out of Washington. But to be honest for me it's more so about Shaq Thompson than Lupoi. I don't really know why - but I have more emotional need to "get even" with Shaq than I do with Tosh. Same when we played UCLA, I wanted to see Jordan Payton get laid out.

Easy Ed - I respect your thoughts on it. And you make some good points. Here are my thoughts.

1. I find it hard to accept the "jealousy" tag, because Tosh wasn't the only one who left. So did Kiesau. Those were two of the young guys on the staff. So maybe it was a generational thing also. If it was only Tosh who left then I would be more inclined to think there was a lot of jealousy and people didn't like him.

I never once heard anything negative about Tosh until he left. He was the pride of our staff, the ace recruiter, the only positively viewed coach on our staff nationally.

Letter 2 - I agree it's in bad character to do what he did. Going to Shaq's house, leaving Tedford stranded, etc. I can't argue that and won't argue that.

Number C - Is it really that different that Tosh badmouthed the Tedford regime when he left, to the way we criticize Tedford and the regime?

Aren't we essentially doing the same thing? Pointing out that a lot of us feel that under Tedford our program will be irrelevant? Tosh didn't say anything negative about our school - he badmouthed the program.

And first and foremost, now that "the cancer" left for Washington are we any better off? I don't see it. Neither in recruiting, nor in defensive line play.

I just have too many complicated issues that I can't resolve around the whole Tosh thing to still be so one-sidedly against him. He's probably a buffoon. He probably acted poorly. But that doesn't necessarily make him unique as compared to our current staff.

Juancho I don't relieve Tedford for responsibility for the Lupoi situation but the sneak attack on Cal says a lot about how much he hated Tedford and the university. Leave, take your sorry ass up to Seattle for the money and the boat but bad mouth your alma mater? Like it says in the interview, if he was up front with Tedford would he have accompanied Tedford to Shaq Thompson's house? Would Tedford have stood there at the airport waiting for Lupoi like an idiot? Doubtful. The interview talks about jealousey amongst the staff, Lupoi getting the big head and other issues so I don't know who is to blame for him leaving, I can forgive that. I can't sneakey manner in which it was done and I can't forgive the big turd he left on his way out of the door.

Easy Ed - I can't listen to the audio file b/c I don't want to relive the recruiting mess. I already feel myself getting worked up.

But riddle me this, if someone is talking objectively about Cal as a place to play important football games and possibly to win a conference, would you recommend Cal ?

How many of us here have taken the position that the current Tedford staff will not get it done. Can you blame a former Cal coach for telling recruits that if they go to Cal under the Tedford regime they're making a mistake? Isn't their some objective validity to that ?

I'm an alumni and my care for Cal starts with the academics and what it stands for, with sports way way distant second. But I'm biased. I tell the kids I coach that Cal is where they should go. But I tell them that b/c of the academics and b/c I know it will make them better people.

If top recruits want to go where they can maximize their athletic talent and play relevant bowl games - as long as Tedford is here Cal isn't the best choice. Simple as that.

Or who here thinks we'll compete for a Rose Bowl with Tedford ?

Even the wind beneath my wings, Zach Kline can't work that much magic.

Easy Ed, I respect your opinion, and respectfully disagree. I think Tosh and Tedford and Sandy all handled that situation the wrong way.

It's just hard for me to believe 100% of Tedford's side of the story. Unfortunately he's lost all credibility in my book. He sounds like he's in a parallel universe when he talks about getting Bigelow more involved in the second half (once we were down a million).

Do I think Tosh is probably a buffoon, probably. But who knows what Tedford did in the Tosh aftermath (to Tosh or Kiesau, etc.) to help earn the wrath he got from Tosh.

The whole situation sucks. And thinking back to the reruiting class that almost was still makes me sick to my stomach.

Had that class come in, we would be in the rose bowl despite the coach. Now we need to reboot the whole damn thing.

Also - this was mentioned in another thread. I don't buy it that Gould has ultimate say in who plays and how many snaps they get at the RB position.

I believe that about as much as I believe that it was all on Tosh when the defense faked cramps a couple years back. That stuff starts at the top.

So, if Bigelow can't learn the plays and formations, whose fault is that? Our $2.5 million head coach, that's who. Gould and Tedford should be staying after practice and giving Bigelow private tutoring. He is averaging 12 yards per carry and has yet to lose a yard on any of his carries. So sick of watching Isi go down the instant he is touched by a defender. Teach Bigelow the plays! Tedford usued to live in the coaches office. Maybe now he has to rush home to Blackhawk for early bird dinner. Tedford has become a zombie. Time to resign.

Leave for the money but to take Cal recruits, turn them to UW and if they aren't interested tell them, "don't go to Cal". Unforgiveable. The day that piece of Dog $hit wears Blue and Gold again will be my last day wearing my beloved undergrad colors.
