To add- in the same way that Tedford couldn’t give two $4it$ about The Cal fan base, this is right in line with that same mentality. The Cal athletic program cares about the Cal fan base only so far as they can squeeze money out of them.

And factor in the inept way the 5 sports dropped were handled from the beginning and all through the process while many great Cal lovers (unlike the Cal employees who run the department) outside the department stepped up on their own and out of great passion, belief and commitment to save those sports- plus the morgue that is Haas most of the season, keeping Braun WAAAAYY too long, the Tedford contract- there really isn’t an overabundance of greatness in there.

Maybe I am being too harsh, given the magnificence of the new facilities- but are even those a ticking financial time bomb?

Hey Juancho- it’s not at 5:30, it’s at 4:00. It ENDS at 5:30. You are otherwise correct- and why have it on Halloween? As if moat don’t have anything better to do on a mid-week Halloween night. I mean, c’mon.

Why aren’t hey smarter than this? SDSU had their “Madness on the Mesa” on a Friday night, publicized the heck out of it, had over 5,000 people show up, had several big recruits show up, and one committed the next day- over Cal- and others. Another NorCal kid, by the way. SDSU alums & fans- heck most of the city – are so pumped up over another top 25 team, the excitement around the program and atmosphere on the Mesa and in Viejas… And then there’s Cal and … Yawn. Just clueless.

Why the hell they have this at 5:30 beats me. How are any of us who work supposed to be able to get out there and spend some money?

I find it laughable that it’s so early. These are college students. Even if not midnight madness, I’d settle for 8 PM madness.
