Football: Bears at 3-6 — `Nobody’s giving up’

After a 49-27 loss at Utah, coach Jeff Tedford kept his postgame remarks to a minimum and encouraged players to have their say in the locker room.

Senior defensive end Kendrick Payne said there was clear consensus: “Nobody’s giving up.”

At 3-6 and coming off back-to-back blowout defeats, the Bears need to win the final three games on their schedule to become bowl eligible, starting Friday night at home against Washington.

What they don’t know is that the fight is really already over. They are so clueless under their out-of-touch coach, that they don’t get it. Its time to mix in some youth and build for the future.ZM should not take another snap. No upside, no reason.

I would be surprised if anyone publicly would say they quit, but they have.

Does the game start at 6:00 or 7:00 this Friday?

    Kickoff is 6 p.m.

  • Fire Jeff Tedford, fire Jeff Tedford. Watching the tape of that ugly Utah game made me sick. This bonehead coach has lost the team. They’re not playing for him. Buy him out and dump him.

I make another impassioned plea to get rid of this bad, bad coach. Sandy, are you listening?

It seems like every person, except one or two, on this board knows real world success. You know with success comes adversity and defeat. The only answer is to get back up and fight again. Never give up.

The coaches have not put our Bears in a position to succeed. So, young Bears, deal with it. It won’t be the last time you’re screwed over by circumstances beyond your control. Finish strong Bears. And let’s hope you’re rewarded at the end of the season with a new hc who is worthy of leading quality young men like you!

    Go Bears!

They haven’t given up? They can’t see what’s in front of them. Tedford gave up on this program a long time ago with his outdated, stubbornness, arrogance, exclusionary insular nature and approach. He can’t see the forest for the trees.

When he soaks Cal for another $8-$9 MILLION DOLLARS, can we please see him for what he really is? Lets not talk about how he is the greatest coach in Cal history, or what a great service he has done for Cal. He did not accomplish the one goal that Cal fans long for – a P10/12 Championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl. Not a “CO”-championship. This guy will end up having been paid over $30 MILLION by Cal and it’s generous donors. I’m sorry, he’s the most overpaid, underperforming coach of ALL TIME.

Greatest coaches don’t go 5-7- let alone also 3-9 or 4-8.

The Huskies will shaq you guys.

That kid turned out to be smarter than all of you thought. He knew when it was time not to board a sinking ship.

Good for him. I hope he turns around and lays the wood on your receivers. That way they can practise the fake injury moves that Lupoi taught them.
