Eric your counter point is accurate if Tedford gets fired and we get a new coach.

Until that happens I will err on the side that he's coming back. I just don't see them firing him this year. I feel like it would have happened already. I think they're going to ride it out and as soon as the season ends and we go back to our non-football lives all the pressure for the change will be gone.

Montgomery will save Tedford's job.

Whatever the line, the least Tedford can do for us is line our pockets. Bet Oregon beats the spread.

If Kline's red shirt is burned, I'll cut Marsha Clark's bangs! I swear I'll do it!

@Juancho

Re Kline, I think the best evidence is Brett Huntley. UCLA didn't burn his redshirt, and made sure he got the start at the season against a creampuff, building his confidence. Huntley has been a stud 95% of the season (our game being the only exception).

@Calduke

Yes, pound the ball. One cannot pound the ball out of a shotgun/spread option set. Why? Because (a) there is no momentum handing off the ball to the RB, who is starting next to the QB, (b) the play almost always has to go as designed (unless it is a read option, which Oregon does exceedingly well and we never have) so the RB has no chance if there is a breakdown in blocking, and (c) there is no FB lead blocking, giving the RB more options which lane to take. You think Cal had good line blocking in 2002 and 2003? You think our RBs were within 5 standard deviations of the talent of Lynch, Vereen, Forsett, Best, or (hopefully) Bigelow? No. But we pound the heck out of the ball.

To Post #16...

Next year will be:

1-Bridgford
2-Kline
3-Hinder
4-Boehm
Doesn't matter after Boehm.

Seeing that Kline was given preferance to attend offense meetings and travel with the team to away games instead of running the scout team this season (walk on #14 Keeney's job), he is being fast tracked to play next season by Tedford. However, Bridgford will be the offseason #1 until Kline is ready. I don't see Kline being held back by Tedford for too long. Remember Reggie Robertson/Aaron Rodgers? Robinson was a pretty good QB, but Rodgers was an excellent QB. 3rd or 4th game in 2003, Rodgers was starting.
