People do you really think SB sits around her office all day reading and responding to email? Her staff does that, just like the staff of each team responds to the emails sent to the coach. It is just the way these things are done. The same staff people probably characterize the nature of each mail and tally the ones in each category, too.

I got the following response from “SB” within an hour of sending my email:

“Thanks for your message. As a community, as alumni, and as current students at Berkeley, we all deserve a football program that represents excellence on and off the field. As the end of the season approaches, we will work diligently in the off season to insure that we take the appropriate steps to return our program to that cherished position.

Thanks for your support of our student athletes and your loyalty to Cal.

I do think that the line “…program that represents excellence on and off the field.” is telling: Sandy (and the other high-ups) know that JT is failing the university in the classroom as well. For Cal to have a lower APR than EVERY sec team looks REALLY bad for the university. Change is afoot…soon…
