By Jeff Faraudo
Wednesday, November 28th, 2012 at 3:49 pm in Basketball, Pac-12 news.

Junior center Josh Smith is leaving UCLA and has received release from his scholarship, the school reported.

Smith was averaging just 13.5 minutes and 5.2 points this season. Chronically out of shape, he has played 20 minutes or more in just 34 of 71 career games.

Here’s the full story.

Meanwhile, Stanford junior wing Anthony Brown will undergo season-ending hip surgery.  Brown averaged 8.1 points a year ago, despite battling knee issues. The Cardinal will miss him.

The pac12 title will go through Berkeley, Boulder, Tuscon and possibly Eugene. ucla basketball is a bad soap opera, and that is fine with me. How does Howland still have a job? First Lamb, now Smith? Who’s next?

    Go Bears!
