UC Davis made official Monday morning what we all reported over the weekend — former longtime Cal assistant coach Ron Gould was named new head coach of the Aggies.
Gould spent 16 seasons as running backs coach for the Bears.
He replaces Bob Biggs, who retired after 20 seasons.

Good for Gould. Davis may emerge as a good D1 team over time. I could see them replacing Boise some day as the small team that could. With RG in charge, that may happen sooner rather than later…

Juancho – just saw that on the earlier post. Thanks again for being quick with the knowledge.

Congratulations, Coach Gould! Nice news for this Cal alum whose son is a Davis alum. Go, Aggies!

Congrats to Ron Gould. Davis has work to do to be able to consistently compete in the Big Sky and hopefully RG can lift the recruiting a bit. Great school with a solid football tradition.

Let’s get UC Davis back on the schedule. We’re playing Big Sky Portland State in 2013; why not the Aggies?
The Cal v UCD game two years ago had 58,000 and we kept the money in the UC family.
By the way, Portland State beat the Aggies in Davis 49-21 to an announced crowd of 7,826.
Go Bears!
