Juancho – the czar of the information pipeline: not the end of the world if we don’t land Newby. Lots of other solid recruits out there. I thank you wehofx. I remember being a kid and how much cal meant for me. And were lucky to be able to pass that on to the next generation.

One of kids got jabari bird to autograph his new cal sweater. Same kid got tony renda to sign a sweater last year.

In bad news looks like newby named his top 3. Nebraska oregon and ucla. I think its too late to flip him now. Not impossible though.

Juancho, what you do for those kids is great. I hope you’re wrong about newby. He is/was one of the 4/5 stars that I think we have a legitimate shot at flipping.

Great to see Solomon finally show up. Now gotta get Kravish going.

Based on yesterday’s minutes Powers passed B Smith in the rotation. I think/guess that Monty is going to use Cobbs, Kreklow and Wallace at the 1. Powers has – by far the better shot – so he goes in at 2 after c,k,w and Crabbe.

At this point in the season we are ranked 41 snd 44 in CBS and Sagarin – the only services I know that go beyond the top 30 or so.

Our SOS hasn’t been great but many other major conference teams have played a weaker one.

This isnt too bad

We next play Harvard #143 who is king of Boston beating Boston College and Boston Univ but they did lose to U Mass, Vermont and Connecticut.

Outside of Arizona there is a lot of parity in the Pac12 USC is another exception as they basically suck at 4-7. Colorado might be slight favorite to finish 2nd.

I judge this season by whether we make the NCAAs. Monty has had time to develop a program and the past few seasons we seem to have gone in the opposite direction. We are helped by the Pac12 being weak again.

Forgot one thing. Before the game i met a parent of one of the prairie view players. The dad turned out to be involved with chaminade. So i brought up terrell newby. He apparently knows the kid. I mentioned how he would be great for Cal. And the guy gave me a ghastly look. So i asked him where he thought hed end up. He said he thinks hes going to oregon.

I took the basball team i coach out to the basketball game. And as a dessert course we went to cal state east bay to watch the salesian vs mitty game.

Jabari bird is the real deal. Salesian blew them out. They could have won by 40 butthey essentially played backups all the third quarter.

I cannot wait to see jabari play at cal. Mike montgomery was at the game. A couple of my kids talked to him and they said he was very friendly. So kudos to him.

Maybe aaron gordon has the flu thats going around. Because he definitely didnt live up to the billing tonight. But to his defense mitty is essentially gordon and some other bodies. Salesian was stacked.
