Yes, Blake — Francisco Elson. There is a good chance he never started a game for Cal. But he was a helleva an athlete. If I recall, he was a great shot blocker, but not a scorer. Amazing he lasted so long in the NBA, though he did not play much at all. Shows that a big body and athleticism is worth a lot. But that does not work for anyone. Just ask Devon Hardin.

The comment about Sean Marks made me think about the best foreign players who played for Cal. At least Marks started for Cal.

Trivia question — what foreign-born player, who rarely if ever started for Cal, played nine years in the NBA (after a few years of playing basketball offshore)? He played for Cal in the last twenty years.

This is so nice to here. He works his tail off. Hopefully some day soon, he gets the call. Guys like Sean Marks turned mediocrity into a 12 year bench career. Jorge deserves a shot, too.

Jorge as coach at Cal, that would be AWESOME!! But let’s let him finish his pro career first, I think he may have 10 years of pro ball in him, maybe not in the NBA, but who knows…
