The Cal women’s basketball team posted a decisive 67-55 win over Stanford at Maples Pavilion on Sunday afternoon, snapping the Cardinal’s 81-game win streak in Pac-12 games.

Here’s the story.

Notes courtesy of Cal athletics:

• California ends a 10-game winless streak against Stanford.

• The Bears send Stanford to consecutive home losses for the first time since the 2000-01 season (Stanford lost 61-35 to #2/2 UCONN on 12/29). The last time Stanford dropped back-to-back home games was Feb. 16, 2001 (82-73 vs. Cal) and March 3, 2001 (62-59 vs. USC).

• California handed Stanford its first double-digit home Pac-12/Pac-10 loss since a 72-57 loss to Cal on Feb. 4, 2007.

• California earned its first win over an AP Top 5 team since defeating No. 2 Rutgers, 66-52, on Nov. 22, 2008.

• California has now led at the half in 13 of 15 games this season with its 39-31 lead over Stanford Sunday, and the Bears are 12-1 in those games – the lone loss coming to Stanford five days ago at Haas. The Bears did not lead against Duke (trailed, lost) or Colorado (tied, won).

• The Bears move to 3-2 this season against teams ranked in the AP Top 25 – California defeated then-No. 19 Kansas (88-79) and then-No. 20 Colorado (53-49) and fell at then-No. 4 Duke (77-63) and No- 5 Stanford (62-53).

• The Bears move to 4-1 in televised games this season (Old Dominion, Utah, Colorado, Stanford, Stanford).

• The Bears committed a season-low six turnovers. The previous low was 10 turnovers against Cal Poly.
