Football: Goff, Anderson, Whitehurt officially enroll, will be available for spring practice

Mid-year enrollees PK Matt Anderson, QB Jared Goff and WR Drake Whitehurst officially joined the Cal football program Tuesday when 2013 spring semester classes began, coach Sonny Dykes announced.

Anderson (Danville, CA/San Ramon Valley HS) and Goff (Kentfield, CA/Marin Catholic HS) are true freshmen, while Whitehurst (Portland, OR/City College of San Francisco/Lincoln HS) is a junior transfer. All three are expected to participate in 2013 spring football practices.

“All of our mid-year enrollees are great fits at Cal athletically and academically,” Dykes said in a statement. “We are excited about the addition of these three excellent student-athletes to our football program. We have addressed several of our needs with an outstanding group of mid-year enrollees that also included a pair of signees last December. We’re excited that they are all here now and ready to hit the ground running.”

The December signees are JC transfers DE Kyle Kragen (Danville, CA/Diablo Valley College/San Ramon Valley HS) and DE Sione Sina (Elk Grove, CA/College of San Mateo/Monterey Trail HS)
