Basketball: The latest from Lunardi

ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi released his latest NCAA tournament projection today, and he still has Cal as a No. 9 seed, pitting them against Colorado State at Lexington, Ky.

At No. 5, Arizona enjoys the Pac-12’s highest seed — despite being a No. 4 seed this week at the Pac-12 tournament. But the joke is on the Wildcats — Lunardi has them playing the winner of one of the “First Four” games, either La Salle or . . . Kentucky.

UCLA is a No. 6 seed, according to Lunardi, Oregon is a No. 9 and Colorado a No. 1o.

Saint Mary’s, despite its loss Monday night to top-ranked Gonzaga in the finals of the WCC tournament, remains in Lunardi’s field as a No. 10 seed, facing North Carolina in Philadelphia.

Here’s the latest bracket projection.

9 seed? Heck, I’d take that and run.

Personally, I think we need a win over USC/Utah AND a win over Oregon/Wash/WSU to see a seed that high.

    But that’s just me.

Let’s win the tourney and rise to a 5/6/7!

    Go Bears!

    Just win and we in!
    And in better seed/draw
    Go Bears!

Feels about right. We’re tied with Oregon but won head to head. CU should be a notch below us. AZ feels high. I think they’re a 6 or 7 while UCLA is the 5. I know AZ beat Miami and FLA but they went 0-4 against the top 3 teams in the conference and coulda/shoulda been 0-6 if you include CU. Perhaps Miami and FLA are overrated or P12 underrated if our 4th best team beat two other conf champs.

Welcome to the NIT furd fans…lol…

OTOH, I was secretly hoping for a rematch in the p12 title game.

    Go Bears!

Hahaha! 15 3s, and ONE FREE THROW! Hard to win when you don’t have 3 refs on your side, isn’t it Standurd U. Go Bears!

I can’t think of a team that has underachieved more than this years stanford team.
Wow, the talent they have and to miss NCAA’s again.
Dwight Powell is a pro too, legit NBA talent. Bet he gets picked between 7-15 in the first round.
No one else on the team consistently played well to support him.

Is bright a senior? I can’t stand that guy, and just want him to go away.

I’m happy that we are there and 9 seems right.
