Basketball: UNLV’s Rice on facing Cal in San Jose — `We just have to deal with it’

UNLV already beat Cal on the road once this season. Now the Runnin’ Rebels face virtually the same assignment in their NCAA tournament opener on Thursday at HP Pavilion.

“I would say it’s much closer to a road game than a neutral-site game,” said UNLV coach Dave Rice, whose team was just 6-6 in road games.

“We just have to concentrate on the fact that we’re playing a terrific Cal team and we’re playing them in San Jose. We just have to deal with it.”

The Bears (20-11) and Runnin’ Rebels (25-9) tip off at 4:27 p.m. Thursday — their third meeting in two seasons.

For once, the table is turned. Take advantage Bears.

Playing pitt in pitt as 3/6 seeds, oklahoma in okc as 8/9 seeds, NEVER playing on the West Coast!? I mean really?

    And just because…

    Go Bears!
