Women’s basketball: Gray perfect in Russia

Cal junior forward Reshanda Gray shot 4 for 4 for eight points in 10 minutes, helping the U.S. to a 120-32 rout of Mali in its opening contest of the World University Games at Kazan, Russia.

Presumably, the event gets a bit more challenging for the U.S. squad, which faces the Czech Republic on Tuesday.

The U.S. shot 66 percent from the field and had 34 assists. Mali converted 19 percent.

Keep up the good work, stay clear of the American spy hiding out at the Russian Airport and whatever you do, do not give Putin your Pac 12 Championship ring! He will not give it back and we will have to put some extreme prejudice on him.

Can we host the raiders for a few seasons to pay off our bills while they build their new high-school sized stadium?

I was up at the campus this past Tuesday and caught up with KM – he says the workouts are definitely all business, no joke, only exceeded by the rigor of the class work. We joked that they need to sell #29 jerseys in the student store on Bancroft, not just #5s!!!
