Football: Nice debut for C.J. Anderson

Rookie running back C.J. Anderson rushed 15 times for 69 yards (4.6 ypc) in the Broncos’ 10-6 exhibition win over the 49ers. A productive debut for the former Cal back.

  1. Always liked him. Another Cal Bear who was good in college but may be a stellar pro.

  2. His game fits well in the NFL, particularly for a team like the Broncos where he can bulldoze his way to gain first downs or TDs. My guess is that he makes the team and gets around 25 carries this season.

  3. Not to beat a dead horse, but I think that Anderson’s success with the Broncos–contrasted with how far the Bears’ running game fell last year–is yet another indictment of how poorly the Bears were coached in the last several years. I am really excited about what I’ve seen with the new coaching staff, and I can’t wait for the Northwestern game. Go Bears! :-)

  4. The O line was pretty porous last year. That had a lot to do with the poor offensive showing all the way around. Let’s hope this season brings a major upgrade.
