byu at cal, a week after big game, is taking our deepest step yet into the forest of ridiculousness.

    Coach Covinared,
(Can I call you coach ‘C’?)Usually the ‘Big Game’ is the last game of the year, so RollenBears has pointed out the obvious.

Thank God Sonny D figured out that Buh is not a talented D coordinator. Hopefully the new guy coming in will have some idea of what he’s doing.

Best thing that can happen to UC East Bay because I doubt it will be full.

Who wants to see a team being beaten over and over again like a punching bag.

You guys are so pathetic you are getting sympathy support.

A thursday for the LA game? Way to take away thousands of alumni and student numbers, Sandy. She needs to go. Everything MoreNCsarecoming says is starting to seem more and more correct. I would be fine if Cal got rid of football all together and focused on academics. Let the baby bruins have the superficiality of college sports.

  • Larry

You do realize that thursday game versus USC is in LA not Berkeley, right?

  • 707 Bears

On Thursday USC, Friday Oregon, last game BYU.

My self-help guru has told me to accept change and be more flexible in life.

    1. Coming home from work on a Thursday and sitting down to watch the Bears in LA will be a welcome treat. I hope the torch is turned on. Yeah, I know two of the last four Cal/USC games have been on Thursday, buy hey, the Larry Scott TV money is great.

    2. Cal v Oregon on a Friday in Santa Clara. See #1, plus I’ll have my Saturday free to complete my honey do list.

    3. BYU after the Stanford game. I’ll be able to walk-off the Thanksgiving meal and traffic will not be a problem; remember the UW, Jake Locker, last game at old Memorial that was played after Thanksgiving. Fewer than 20K. Plenty of room to enjoy the view of Strawberry Canyon.

  • Larry

That’s how I view it! More room for me!

  • 707 Bears

Another positive for the BYU game: I’ve found my LDS brothers and sisters to be exceptionally well behaved and the line at the beer garden should be short.

  • covinared

Rot: closing out the season with Stanford has not been the rule for a while. I don’t see BYU at the end as ridiculous unless I’m looking for something to complain about.

Do you see any value in having the season end with the Big Game?

How about these famous finishing games:

    Ohio State v Michigan
    Army v Navy
    Alabama v Auburn

    As Tevya said, “Tradition!”

    I await your abuse

Guys, things have changed. So should your thinking. the season should end with the PAC 12 championship game and a bowl, not with Stanford.

  • BlueNGold

The furds’ season does not end with the Big Game. Its not like these things are cast in stone. I care more about the BG being a meaningful game than I do when it is played.

    Interesting info on Cal recruiting.

I’ve not heard ANYTHING on Koa, which worries me. With Sherman Oaks Notre Dame track season starting, I’m hoping to get better info.

One name popped out at me – Tyler Hilinski. He was at Sherman Oaks ND as a freshman and sophomore and transferred to Upland for his junior year (and is staying at Upland). His older brother Kelly Hilinski, Khalfani, and my kid were all on last year’s team and Kelly went to Columbia (and had an offer from Arkansas). Tyler and my next oldest were on the freshman team in 2011 (undefeated, by the way) and he had a lot of promise – very mobile, strong arm. I’d love to see Cal recruit him.

Ouch! But true. MoreNCsarecoming – It’s hard to reason with Cal fans when half of them believe Stormy Dykes was a good hire and deserves a few more years. I mean you or I could have done better ooaching Cal in 2013. The bar for #wins over FBS teams was set at ZERO. Can’t do worse than Stormy.

Get ready for the insults with no merit. Let me start – you and I are a fool, idiot, imbecile, jackass, mooncalf, nincompoop, ninny, nitwit, simple, simpleton, softhead, dope, ding-dong, dip, goof, jerk, schmuck, turkey.

LOL, none of that changes how doormatty Cal football has become. Cal and Purdue couldn’t combine teams and beat Don Bosco HS this year.

  • Eric

Woj – is there a point to your post? You have said the same thing over and over. What does this add?

The Moron (assuming you and it are different) will troll no matter what, but if you are trying to maintain an independent voice, on a post concerning Cal’s 2014 football schedule, are you saying you won’t be watching any games next season? If yes, great.
