Football: Cal debuts `The Grind’

The Bears held two practices Monday, both of them closed and the morning session dedicated strictly to special teams.

Cal also released its first episode of “The Grind,” its video feature on fall camp. In this one, the players learn the Cal fight song in anticipation they will get to sing it in the locker room after a victory at Northwestern on Aug. 30.

Re:”Fight for California” it don’t mean s### unless we win. It’s corny but I like it, a lot! Team building is important.

Also sounds like the D is starting to ball. If Moose and Scarlett stay sound, we might have a real D line. Also sounds like back 7 are benefiting from last year’s trial by fire and the new D staff.

i’m ashamed to admit, I never learned the words, and am trying to learn them in time for our first win (hopefully not Sac State(. this is one of the reasons why we don’t have such a strong base. the old blues are dying off. we need to bring back the tradition before it dies forever. everyone should want to learn these songs as a student, not just rally com members. so glad the team is doing this.
