Football: Cal, Auburn sign two-year deal for 2019, ’20

Cal has signed a two-year, home-and-home deal with Southeastern Conference power Auburn, the national runnerup last season and the 2010 national champion.

The Bears will visit Auburn on Sept. 21, 2019, with the Tigers making a trip to Berkeley on Sept. 19, 2020.

The teams will be meeting for the first time.

Cal also scheduled three home games for the 2016, ’17 and ’18 seasons.

South Dakota will visit on Sept. 3, 2016, Weber State comes to town on Sept. 9, 2017, and Idaho State will travel to Berkeley on Sept. 15, 2018.

Football: 2015 schedule announced

Cal will open the 2015 Pac-12 Conference schedule with a Sept. 26 game at Washington, the conference announced Tuesday night.

The Bears will play at Stanford in the Big Game on Nov. 21, then close the regular season with a Nov. 28 home game against Arizona State.

Their one non-Saturday game will be a Thursday, Oct. 22 matchup at UCLA.

Cal misses Colorado and Arizona on next season’s schedule.

Cal will open the 2015 season with home games against Grambling and San Diego State before its Sept. 19 matchup with Texas.

Football: Barr to join Cal radio team for Sac State

Cal alum Dave Barr, who passed for 6,305 yards and 48 touchdowns from 1992 through ’94, will join KGO’s radio team for coverage of the Bears’ home opener against Sacramento State on Sept. 6.

Barr, who lives in Sacramento, will pinch-hit for regular analyst Mike Pawlawski, who is helping with the Pac-12 Networks’ television coverage of the same game.

Football: Bears schedule North Carolina, TCU

Cal has scheduled home-and-home nonconference football series against North Carolina and Texas Christian, two opponents the Bears have never faced, the school announced Wednesday.

Cal will face North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Sept. 2, 2017, then host the Tar Heels on Sept. 1, 2018.

The series vs. TCU begins with a game at Berkeley on Sept. 5, 2020, before Cal treks to Fort Worth, Texas, for a rematch on Sept. 11, 2021.

Football: Times set on 3 games for 2014

Times are set for three of Cal’s 2014 football games, including its home opener Sept. 6 against Sacramento State, which kicks off at noon and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.

Cal’s game against Oregon at the new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Friday, Oct. 24, will begin at 7 p.m.

And the Bears’ Thursday, Nov. 13 game at USC is slated for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

Cal’s season-opener at Northwestern is part of the Big Ten Conference television package and is expected to be announced soon.
