Jeff Tedford had a pretty long session with reporters today. As it usually is on a Monday, much of the discussion focused on Saturday’s game.
One of the first topics addressed was the lack of passing game against UCLA. After reviewing the tape, Tedford said his opinion of what happened didn’t change.

Cal doesn’t hold its weekly press conference during bye weeks, but coach Jeff Tedford actually requested an informal media session this morning. Because of the late nature of Saturday’s game, and the way it turned right at the end, some writers (including yours truly) weren’t able to get down to the locker room in time for Tedford’s post-game availability. - Here’s my Cal-Washington game story.
- Here’s the notebook off the game.
- Not suprisingly, Cal dropped back out of the top 25. The Bears still did receive 14 votes, putting them at No. 31. Utah, the probable opponent, checks in at No. 23.

Cal linebacker Mike Mohamed has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week for defense. Mohamed becomes the first conference player this season to win the defensive award twice.

That honor went to Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for three other scores in the Ducks’ 44-41 double-overtime win over Arizona.
