It’s Time for A Beer Dinner

It’s a new year and Bruce Paton, the executive chef at the Cathedral Hill Hotel will hold his first Dinner With the Brewmaster this Friday night, Jan. 27, 2006, featuring the award-winning beers of Schooner’s Grille and Brewery, Antioch, CA.
Deadline for tickets has passed, but Bruce always manages to squeeze in late-comers. Cost: $65 and worth it. Call: (415) 674-3406. The hotel also a $79 room rate. It’s at 1101 Van Ness Ave.
Here’s the menu:
Reception, 6:30 p.m., Chefs Hors DíOeuvre, served with Schooner’s Red Ale
Dinner: 7:30 p.m.
First Course: Deconstructed Joeís Special Tartare of Angus Beef, Bloomsfield Spinach Salad with Roasted Mushrooms, Grated Hard Cook Egg and Shaved Asiago Cheese. Served with Schooner’s IPA
Second Course: Deconstructed Cioppino, Filet of Artic Char with Fresh Gulf Prawns, Dungeness Craband Manila Clams with Braised Fennel and Oven Dried Tomato Sauce, Served with Schooner’s Alpha Avalanche
Third Course: Butterscotch Bread Pudding with Scotch Ale Zabaglione. Served with Schooner’s Barrel Aged Scotch Ale.
