So I’m planning a column specifically around gifts for wine enthusiasts. I want to provide ideas for varying degrees of wine geekdom, from the budding enthusiast in your life to the connoisseur.

So far I have what I consider the year’s three best wine books, an ice-less chiller, the Rabbit and a gift certificate to a local merchant’s wine club. Do you have a favorite wine gadget or other item that should make the list?

Let me know. Post them here or email me at Make sure to include the price and where you think the item can be purchased. Thanks!

Hello Jessica, This is not a specific item but as far as accessories of a wine related nature J winery in Healdsburg has the best I have seen in the wine country. They have a heart shaped polished aluminum foil cutter that is beautiful I have had clients walk away with several they are so attractive. Mom Sandra Jordan has a great book on decanting. They have some afforable crystal decanters and other accessory trays that are quite nice!

Thanks Mark. My foil cutter broke recently, so you can bet I’m going to pick one of these up the next time I’m at J!
