[...] I first read about this in Jessica Yadegaran’s great Corkheads blog that she writes for the Contra Costa Times. While it is disheartening to hear about yet another legendary private winery being sold to a large corporation, it is heartening to read that the deal intends to keep the current workforce and basically leave the winery, as is. Perhaps the huge financial backing will allow for further and better sources of grapes, but as Jessica points out in the comments…it’s Rosenblum, do they really need that help to get premium Zinfandel grapes. Ward will try any and all wines and tends to write about the parts of his life that include wine...like virtually all of it! He and his wife grew up in Napa and Sonoma and they still live nearby in Northern California. View Ward's personal blog. View Drxeno's Wine Log.
Me too. I was shocked to hear the excuse that they need helping sourcing other vineyards. It's Rosenblum! But anyway, agreed.
Cheers
