Here’s the short and oh-so-sweet of it...City Beer has an IPA fest going on beginning tonight, Wendesday, June 11, 2008.
City Beer is the pub-retail store at 1168 Folsom St. in San Francisco with the unique license that lets you try a beer in the pub, then buy some to take home. Here’s the lineup and word from proprietor Craig Wathen:
Simply put, we have mad love for Indian Pale Ales. Born in the 18th century, these gorgeous richly hopped ales were brewed strong to survive the turbulent journey to India. Across rough waters and warm climates the English brewers needed their product to be hardy, and to arrive fresh for the parched troops waiting on the other side.
We decided to show our unbridled love by giving over all tap handles all week long to double IPA’s. Starting today, through Sunday we will feature a variety of double IPA’s on tap. When a keg pours its last glass, another double IPA selection will be added. The kegs will not be repeated throughout the week. Please check our website for the daily lineup.
The starting lineup:
Bear Republic Racer X
Russian River Pliny the Elder
Avery Maharaja
Moylans Hopsickle
Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA
Chouffe Houblon Dobbelen IPA
