Oops. Wrong night for Drake’s tasting at the Toronado in San Francisco: It’s Wednesday night

Obviously, I don’t know what day it is. The Drake’s tasting is Wednesday night, June 18, 2008. Starts at 6 p.m. And I won’t be there, because I’ll still be in Boston for a Boston Beer/Sam Adams tasting.
My apologies. Damn.

It’s been far too long. But Drake’s Brewing in San Leandro is having a tasting of a special beer Wednesday, (June 18, 2008),  beginning at 6 p.m. at the Toronado in San Francisco.  The brew, known as Biere Speciale, is is a blend of two beers:

Brettamber, which has been aged two  years in a merlot oak barrel with Brettanomyces (wild yeast).

Batch 2000, Drake’s 2000th brew. It’s a Belgian-style tripel, aged two years using a Trappist ale yeast.

Haven’t reached Drake’s head brewer Josh  Minor yet to talk about the beer, but Toronado proprietor David Keene says he’ll have a number of other Drake’s beers on tap as well.

There’s no admission charge, pay for your beer.
