I enjoy reading Bill’s column and was so saddened to hear about this accident. I am praying he has a speedy recovering. Lot’s of great beer consumption over the years makes for stong bones and blood! He’s tough and will be back enjoing the hi-life again soon! Cheers to Bill and his quick healing. Best to his family as they provide him strength.

Bill:
We missed you at Triple Rock today. They had 20 wood-aged beers, plus some leftover Sours from the Sunday Fest. Of the five wood brews that I sampled the Firestone-Walker Saucer Full Of Secrets and the Speakeasy Hunters Point Porter were the cream of the crop. We all hope to see you back in action soon.

We stopped by the hospital today to visit with Bill’s family. They’re old and dear friends and they’re holding up amazingly well.

Bill’s situation is still grim, but he’s showing a few signs of improvement today. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and keep those toasts and prayers coming!

At the Double IPA Fest I enjoyed the wonderful Lou P Lin very much – even more than the Poorman’s (which seemed too “English” for my West Coast palate Also liked the Bear Republic Mach X a bit more than the APEX (though both were excellent.)

Looking forward to Toronado this weekend – and hoping to hoist a few to some good news on Bill’s recovery.

Last night I opened up my last bottle of the North Coast 2004 Old Stock Ale. The beer was dark and earthy, and being 4 years old, very mellow. The bitterness was all but gone but despite that still had a very nice balance.

My wife and I toasted to Bill with a tasty Trumer Pils last PM at 7 (hreat suggestion Jay), while I recalled Bill and my “Salud”s to each other at the bar at the DIPA fest Saturday. Get well soon Bill!

I skipped the events last night but my wife and I raised a glass of Moylander DIPA for Bill at 7. I will be hosting a Sonoma Springs tasting at Toad in the Hole in Santa Rosa tonight, and we’ll hoist a glass to him tonight as well.
