The A's Brewfest was extraordinarily well-attended. I was there in the crush, arriving a few minutes before the scheduled start at 4 PM Saturday. There were no signs whatsoever pointing to the event once parked. A gate staff member directed us around the stadium to the Eastside Club. We waited in a long line to get in, only to find that at the last minute the line forked into 2 lines, with 3/4 of the people heading into a stadium entrance, and the minority paying their way into the Brewfest. Only 2 people handling ticket sales to the 'fest. We got a respectable 12 oz. plastic beerglass, two beers for $10 (and no option for additionsal refills unless a friend didn't use a ticket). Once inside we found the interesting brewers quickly: 21A, Bear Republic, Mt. St. Helena, Lagunitas. Most people were lined up for a Blue Moon or a Bud Lite so short lines for the good beer. But that was at 4:30. By 5:30 the place was so crowded moving positions was like a Rubik's cube. My friends who had waited in the entry line for an hour found most kiosks out of beer before 6, certainly all the good ones.

All in all, the A's ran it like a typical A's event -- second rate and poorly coordinated. And the A's lost (but the day was nice). I wish the Giants would have a brewfest.

Once inside, we quickly surveyed the scene and started at 21A with the IPA.
