Low acid wines

A reader named Jim emailed today inquiring about low acid wines. He suffers from acid reflux and while he realizes that high acidity is favorable, he needs to drink the flabby stuff. Any suggestions? I pointed him in the direction of Viognier and Merlot. Please post your wisdom.

Lambrusco – yeah, it’s like the soda pop of wine (mild, slightly bubbly), but the ones we’ve tried have all been on the sweeter side. My husband has had issues with acid and Lambrusco never bothers him.

good one. thanks. although I’ve had a few lambruscos with decent acidity – or maybe it’s the bubbles that make it seem that way.
