Weekend Update 8.14

There’s a lot going on this weekend, from Speakeasy’s 12th Anniversary Party to the Bistro’s IPA Festival.


Saturday, August 15

The Toronado will celebrate its 22nd anniversary with “special beers on tap, special bottle releases, food and fun all day.” The party begins at 11:30 a.m.

The 7th annual Russian River Beer Revival & BBQ Cook-Off at Stumptown Brewery in Guernville.


Saturday, August 18

The Melting Pot in San Mateo will host a beer dinner featuring four Sierra Nevada beers paired with three courses of fondue for $59 per person. After dinner, the price includes a nice cigar and after dinner drink on the patio.

August 28: Brewfest at the California State Fair in Sacramento.

August 28-30: The Eat Real Festival will take place at Jack London Square for three days, emphasizing local and regional breweries, street food vendors, and farmers. It will also feature a beer pavilion hosted by Dave McLean, from Magnolia, with 40-something regional microbreweries from Northern California.


September 12-13: The 6th annual Brews On The Bay will again take place aboard the old World War II Liberty Ship, the SS Jeremiah O’Brien. Hosted by the San Francisco Brewers Guild, all seven City craft breweries will be serving 40 beers, with food and music by Zepperella and Zoo Station.

October 7: The Albatross Pub’s 45th Anniversary Party will take place October 7, 2009 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. “The Whiskey Brothers Bluegrass Band will be playing with no cover charge and a buffet will accompany the pub’s fine imported and domestic draft and bottled beers.”
