I got the 1% stat from the first sentence of the press release:

September 22, 2010: Napa, CA -­ Crushpad announced today that it has crossed the 1% mark in US wine
production by creating more than 1 out every 100 wines
sold in the US.

Am I missing something?

The stat was that Crushpad produces 1 out of every 100 wine brands sold in the US each year, not 1% of total volume of wine created. I can see how it would be confusing without the entire release.
