I’ve been looking for a good book to read the past couple of months and might check out a new historical novel by a local English professor.
It’s supposed to be a Barnes and Noble bookstore “Discover Pick” of the holiday season.
The book by James Tipton, who teaches at Skyline College in San Bruno, is on display in the front of all Barnes and Noble stores through January.
The book, “Annette Vallon: A Novel of the French Revolution,” is published by HarperCollins.
The novel covers the life of English poet William Wordsworth and the untold story of his partner, Annette Vallon, during the French Revolution of 1789.
“Tipton has achieved a tour de force of historical literature, fascinating for both the characters and the chaotic bloody era in which they lived,” a Barnes and Noble review said.
The book is also available at the Skyline bookstore.
