State giveth, taketh away

The folks at Capuchino High School in San Bruno felt a bit slighted when I didn’t specifically include the fact that they were among the local schools awarded more than $13 million in state funding for campus upgrades in this story last week.

They now probably feel way more miffed at the state for taking all that money back.

Belmont’s top teacher

Kudos to Rick Federighi, an eighth-grade history and social-science teacher at Ralston Intermediate School in Belmont.

He is the 2008 Educator of the Year for the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District.

Federighi (the guy with the plaque in the photo) has served at Ralston for more than 30 years.
