Peninsula High postscript
Just got a call this morning from Peninsula High School Principal Cheryl LeBeouf about this story that ran today.
The story is about the changes in how Peninsula gives out academic credits and mentions LeBeouf’s discrimination complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against San Mateo Union High School District Superintendent David Miller.
“It is unfortunate (the school) has to be portrayed in a negative way,” she said. “Peninsula is a wonderful school.”
I did try several times to contact LeBeouf for the story beforehand but was unsuccessful.
Still, I appreciated being able to chat with her briefly even after the fact.
She declined to talk more at this point about the issues raised in the story but invited me to visit and learn more about the school at a later time. I took her up on the offer, so stay tuned for a possible follow-up.
