The A’s just sent an e-mail advisory about a 4:30 p.m. conference call for a trade that will be announced then. If the ESPN scroll is correct, Joe Blanton is on his way to the Phillies.

Of course we’ll go to games. It has been painful to watch Joe give up 4-6 runs in the 4th or 5th inning with some consistency, whether or not he had a lead or was in the hole. I liked Joe a lot as a person, but he started sounding and acting a little like the $126M guy across the bay. At least he wasn’t making Zito’s kind of money.
