The Foxboro Hot Tubs are a hot “new” band, living large on the hit radio single “Mother Mary.” They’ll release their so-called debut album, “Stop, Drop and Roll,” on Tuesday.

Never heard of the Hot Tubs? We’d be willing to bet that you’ve heard of the band members _ they are the same guys who are in Green Day. It hasn’t been a very well kept secret that the two entities are, indeed, one in the same _ and the Green Day guys came clean with that fact last month.

The Hot Tubs are currently on tour in support of “Stop, Drop and Roll.” According to their Myspace page, the band performed Thursday at the Stork Club in Oakland and Friday at Toot’s Tavern in Crockett. That’s quite the change of scenery for a group that _ when it uses the Green Day name _ can sell out major amphitheaters and even stadiums.

The Oakland show was great. Very squishy and shovey once they got onstage, but the music was very enjoyable. Nice one guys.
