Pictured: Vampire Weekend
The Raconteurs, Vampire Weekend and TV on the Radio are among the top acts scheduled to appear at the second annual Treasure Island Music Festival. Tickets for the two-day festival, set for Sept. 20-21, are scheduled to go on sale at 10 a.m. May 30 through Ticketmaster outlets.
Like 2007’s inaugural affair, the event will be organized thematically. The first day will be devoted to electronic and dance-oriented acts, such as TV on the Radio, Goldfrapp, Hot Chip and Justice. The second day will feature indie-rock-style acts like Jack White’s Raconteurs, the much-hyped Vampire Weekend, the Dodos and Spiritualized. That two-day lineup stacks up nicely to 2007’s bill, which included Modest Mouse, Thievery Corporation, Spoon, Built to Spill and Gotan Project.
Perhaps the main draw of this event, however, is the location. The outdoor setting on Treasure Island allows for some absolutely gorgeous views of the San Francisco skyline and the Bay.
