Raiders of the lost Psyche

And the pain of the letter “L” saga continues…
for now.
So it appears our damaged Linemen did not improve since my last threat in destroying their Shaq-Crib like houses with my new Battle Station; the dreadful Death Star 3 ?!?!?
SO BE IT…I have no choice but to send the Oakland Raida Fett to kidnap each and every one of you so I can teach all of you how to block with the proper technique.. on second thought, you have TWO of the best blocking coaches in the Universe on our team!!!…what do YOU think is the problem, O-line??!?!?!!?!??!
I sense something…feelings….from each and every one of you….
feelings of darkness…mental anguish, uncertainty and instability.
Ahh, I see…..these feelings may be be the reasons why we are getting demolished on a weekly basis..
because you don’t quite yet BELIEVE you can block the best in the NFL.
You get beat once or twice and the feeling sticks.. it never really leaves the mind.. you get beat a third time and pretty soon the only block that’s occurring is a mental one.
Destroyer of the Jedi, How do you maintain balance and conquer once again, you all ask????
It’s more simple than you think, my Sith Apprentices..
Simply refocus..regather information and finally…
RELOAD for the battles that lie ahead.
Just focus on the 5 Facts of the Fearless Sith Lord:
Fact I: These are two of the best Defenses in the NFL. Move your way up through the chain of enemies before you get to the big, fat kills.
Fact II: You are all playing in somewhat new positions since last year.
Fact III: You are playing in a new system..no, not the Dagobah system…Dagobah system…Ben…
Fact IV: It takes time for a fairly new O line to COMPLETELY gel and execute the way you all wish to..
Fact V: It takes time for a new QB to adjust himself in getting the ball out quicker..ESPECIALLY from the average NFL Sophomore QB
Know and learn all of this now and you will soon deliver more pancakes than Denny’s on a Saturday morning shift in the future..
Now, the Master of the Sith knows there are no excuses for getting beat..but I do know this; preparation, field time and more reps adds more strength to a Lineman’s body, mind and soul… getting familiar with defenses leads to his path to progression.
In conclusion, you will all get better in time. Heal and reflect now..and release you anger later. You will get plenty of more chances to display your true talent. No more threats, just belief and confidence in all of you. The Force will be with you in October.
Andrew Walter; the new starting QB? You knew his chance was coming, Raider Nation. Despite what the Coach is saying (You don’t lose your job unless something really goes out of whack..) young Padawan, Master Shell IS considering you for a 1st string QB for the rest of the season depending on:
1) If you eliminate your turnover ratio
2) If you make the correct Audible adjustments
3) If your team works well with you
4) If you control your emotions…
5) If you win, damnit!
As you also know, the line’s progression is also key, so it’s time to have some faith!! I know there’s not a lot of it going around for obvious reasons, but positive thought turns into positive action in due time. Encourage them, A-Dub!
For what it’s worth Nation, I feel the injured Aaron Brooks has not made too many mistakes in the previous two games. Real Raider fans know the REAL problem is that the wall keeps leaking. It would be a great disrespect to call him a permanant #2 QB this early in the year, but until he get’s another chance…
it’s Drews turn.
The next game will be Walter’s chance to prove to all of us if he is AT LEAST worthy of challenging AB for the Starting QB position. Make the most of it, number 16. When I met you, you were but the learner…
try to be the Master..
Defense? there are too many compliments to give. Sack Sandwich Sapp,Captain Kirk, Lance, Ty the terrible, Fab, Huff, etc, etc…you deserve better and will get more from the Offense in time. Keep playing your arse’s off, savage Wookies and we all will have something to cheer about for ALL of our teams!
Special teams, after the 1st play, you were impressive as well. My force blocking is working…pats on the cape are not necessary, but appreciated..
till next time Dark Knights of the S and B..we will rise again….I promise you…
we will rise again…
-DR

The Raiders are in a horrible state at this point…I expect a solid performance against the Browns next week but even if they do win that, they are light years away from just getting respect around the NFL…this is one dysfunctional franchise. I did not think it could get any worse than it has been over the past 3 seasons but I was dead wrong…as much as I respect Art Shell, I am beginning to doubt if he’s coaching material. When he coached the Raiders the first time around, he had legitimate stars such as Tim Brown, Howie Long, Bo Jackson, and Marcus Allen…during training camp, I was impressed with Shell’s discipline but it now appears that Shell is slowly losing control of the team. Art Shell should be embarrassed for his choice of offensive coordinator, Tom Walsh (Mr. Bed & Breakfast), who has been out of the league for 12 years…even though he was on the team for only 4 days, the signing of Jeff George was also an embarrassment. A horrible offensive line, two disgruntled receivers, and no depth at running back. Aaron Brooks is and always will be a very mediocre QB. The Raiders need to go ahead and let Andrew Walter start for the rest of the season. This season will be ugly and if they passed up QB’s Jay Cutler and Matt Leinart in the draft because they feel they already have their quarterback of the future, then they need to go ahead and see what he can do this season since they will probably not even win 5 this year. As big of a Raider fan as I am, I am objective, realistic, and totally pissed off at being the fan of such a dysfunctional franchise. We are light years away from just a playoff appearance. The defense is looking good as is the special teams but it all goes for nothing if the offensive is so horrific. It’s no wonder the Raiders are the laughing stock of the league these days…..maybe they’ll embarrass themselves and bring Jeff George back again…Art Shell actually said in a recent interview that he has not completely ruled it out…are you freakin’ kidding me? Well I guess I’ll bring this bye week vent to a close……by the way, I do predict that the Raiders will lose to the Browns next Sunday. Cleveland won there last season, 9 - 7, and we weren’t half as bad as we are now. I hope I am wrong…..may the Force be with us Darth Raider…..we could use a strong dose of it.
