The Art subject

So this is what it comes down to, Nation: 14 straight AFC Division losses. This year will be the LOWEST scoring Oakland Raider team of all time. Por Dios, THIS is after most thought we’d never do worse than last year. Well Kids, here we are.
We have 2 wins. That’s right, 2 wins as of Christmas Eve. We can only HOPE to achieve winning 3 against the New York Jets. Yeah, that’s correct…3…for the whole damn year. Personally, I think the word Frustration doesn’t quite describe what the Dark Lord of the Sith is feeling right now. I’m glad it still works for others…

“Personally, I’ve never been so frustrated. This game took something out of me because we came into the game knowing we could beat the Chiefs.” -Nnamdi Asomugha

Other personal also chimed in with their grief afterwards….

“I know I can play. There have been some tough times, and I’ve been part of that..but I don’t care what people say or what people think. I know I can play.” -Andrew Walter

“All I can say is, we’re just as disappointed as they are. We don’t go out and try to lose games.” -Art Shell

I kind of like the injured Robert Gallery’s assessment…
” Stupid sh%*% has happened this year.”

“I don’t really care if it’s division or not. I don’t even know what division I’m in. When you lose, you lose, it doesn’t matter to me if it’s Kansas City or Joe Blow. Then again, Joe Blow, I’m pretty sure we can beat him.” -Jarrod Cooper.
Man, do I love this guy. Quick story: I met the hard hitting Safety at Newpark mall in Newark last week and thanked him personally for being one of the most hilarious, outspoken Raiders on the current roster. “..Because not EVERY Raider calls Jerry Porter a jerk on TV..” I said. I kind of expected to him to possibly backpedal a bit, but instead he responded with “Ey man…some things are just a given! Jerry Porter IS A JERK!” All of the Raiders that were signing laughed their asses off….me too.

One more quote from MR. 8 INTs Nnamdi “Awesome” Asomugha on our current coach:
“I’ve already had enough coaches and enough rebuilding seasons. Give the guy a chance.”

Whoa Nellie, #21?!?!?…you want the man to stay? You know Rebels, I have to say I’m now torn between keeping the legendary Hall of famer and leaving him out in the frozen Christmas snow. Maybe the players should take a vote…not including Moss and “Pouter” of course…

I guess it doesn’t help with the NFL reporter (and former Bronco reporter) Adam Schefter claiming that Art WILL be fired after the season’s end. Recently, he claimed Art might be back. Make up your mind, chum……p.
You tell me Nation, do you really want a guy who is held responsible for the fewest Touchdowns in Raider history? Or, do you believe the losing was mostly because of our former Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line? All of this crap keeps the Sith up late at night.

Before I sound off, I want to thank all of the dedicated Raider fans that kept me warm inside the heart from the start in the house of the big O. My spirit, soul and passion could never of been without the essence of you…
Mom, Dad, Leonard, Gary, Peggy, Lisa, Linda, Louie, Chad ,Kay, Geoff, Big Dogg, Chuck, Gabe and his boys, Raider baby (Thanks 4 all the gifts!), Karen, Pirate Katie, Steve and his kids, Memo and his Pops and COUNTLESS others that love and support me through the dark times. I love you guys. Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you get all you ask for..well, MOST OF what you ask for..

One more game to show progress Nation. I’ll see you in New York, Master Jedi’s.

In Al I trust?

May peace be with you, Run Run. You lived a great life. I will always appreciate your loyalty to the entire organization, your undying compassion to the fans and your enormous heart. Your smile will not be forgotten in the Coliseum. May God Bless your family and friends forever and ever, Amen..

While I’m in the blessing mood, I’d like to give it up to our enchanting owner, Mr. Al “Emperor” Davis.

Yeah, I can already sense the backlash and the negative feedback coming the Master of the Sith’s way. But before you chime in and express to me again how the old man has lost it, is not dedicated enough, not passionate enough to the fans, not confident enough..allow me to print some of Al’s responses after he was asked how he should address the recent problems in the Oakland Raider Organization..

“I’ll get it done. You don’t go through 5 decades, we’ve been there (to the Super Bowl) five times, we’ve won three..I’ll get it straightened out, you can bet on that.. hell yes. We’ve got things to do and it’s gonna be big, but we’ll get it done..” He continued “You’ve to look at it the way I have to look at it, not the way you’ll look at it necessarily. But in any event, I’ll get it done.I want to win, and I always will. I always have.”
When he was asked his thoughts on the Defense compared to the Oakland Offense, big Al recited “I don’t want to get into Football, seriously. I just think at this particular time, it’s not proper. You’ve got to win, it’s not how you play. That’s a prophetic remark, isn’t it? You never heard that one before.”
Asked about how Art Shell is holding up, he offered no opinion “You don’t make those decisions right now” he said “My determination is about this Football team, this organization, and the fans, the fans, the fans. What did McArthur say, ‘ The Corps, the Corps, the Corps?’ I say ‘The fans, the fans, the fans and the team, the team, the team’
” I want to win” he continued. ” Obviously, in life, I like certain things. I like beautiful women more than unbeautiful women. I’m not denigrating unbeautiful women, but I want to win, and I will win, and we will win..and we’ll get this straightened out. But this business is my life now, I’m getting so many people leaving me, it’s tough.”
Davis noted that he’ll get to Football issues in the future.. “I’m sure we’ll get together, but right now, this is where we are.”

So what does all of this mean? Uh,besides the startling discovery that Al like hot, voluptuous chicks? I believe it means that the Emperor still gives a damn on the direction of this team. I believe it means that Al will eventually figure out were he went wrong and will address every single position in the off season. I believe he possibly wants to let go of Aaron Brooks in favor of a free agent QB he likes who will be backed up by Andrew Walter. If he actually likes a top 5 College Quarterback in the draft, I would be surprised. That’s usually not the way Al thinks….but maybe he should…
Not Everyone knew what kind of player Vince Young would turn out to be….but look at him now, 7-4 as a starter. Should we take a risk and hope we don’t end up with a sub par QB? (see Eli Manning..Alex Smith 1st year..MOST of this year)
Can you honestly say that Troy Smith and Brady Quinn will produce for us right away? Shouldn’t we address the line 1st?
Ah, these are questions that makes my mechanical mind ponder. But I rest easy knowing that Al Davis IS in the Hall of Fame and has made great decisions before…and hopefully, he’ll make them again. Proof, you ask????
Al hired a Junior College coach named John Madden. Al picked up countless players who are remembered almost as folklore (insert your favorite 70’s, 80’s Raider here)
Al signed a backup;Rich Gannon, stuck with Tim Brown, picked up Jerry Rice, signed Romanowski to make a Super Bowl team in 2002.
Recently, Al has set the Raiders up with Randy Moss and Warren Sapp who even YOU thought was good idea until recent events…(with Bluntman) Al had a say on picking up Nnamdi in the draft, Burgess from Phili and giving Rob Ryan another chance this year as Defensive Coordinator…
Sure, he recently made some terrible mistakes regarding the Staff on the Offense…but I know the man will bounce back with big changes. He’s said so himself. Mock me, if you want, but the guy rebounds when others least expect it.One day, the old man’s number will come up again. One day, the Sith shall have their revenge…
and I sure as hell don’t want to miss it…
do you?

In other News, Congratulations are in order for Mr. Derrick Burgess. Good Job on making it to your second Pro Bowl as an Oakland Raider.
Shane Lechler, Warren Sapp, Chris Carr, and shut‘em down Nnamdi? You got F$#$#$ hosed…
Well…there’s always the reserves roster….

Merry Christmas, Nation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s get a win for Xmas!!!!

Too many minds.

Tis the season to be sorry….fa la la la…la la la $%%$#@!
Hola, evil, angry people. I trust you are all recovering nicely from many spiked eggnogs already..so I’ll make it brief…
So it happened again. The real question is; are you numb enough yet?
For me..personally, it never gets uneventful. Football is still Football and I will always enjoy great players who make great plays….sometimes, I will admire them even on the opposite side if you can believe it…but mostly, I think of what it would be like to actually play for the infamous Oakland Raiders…
I also think at times, what kind of skill all of these players have compared to your average Quarterback couch potato that writes or comments on blogs…. What motivates them? How they do they react towards all of the negativity they read and hear about? What drives them to get back on the field after not having a complete game? What is their mental condition at the present time????

Well, hell..I AM DARTH RAIDER,Lord of the Sith, Master of all evil…powers intact!!! I’ll give it a shot.. let me tell you all personally what I think I sensed yesterday in several player’s passionate (or passionless) minds…

Chad Johnson aka Oucho Cinco: “Holy sH$$$, son these Corner’s are F$#@@ quick!!….seriously…for real though….I still better get mine. Ok…got mine!!!….these fooz r still quick though…especially Fab Washington. Uh…guess Nnamdi might be up there too…7 picks?!?! Damn, I still better get mine….”

Nnamdi Asomugha: “Would they really want to select me for the Pro Bowl? Hmmmm..I am a Raider. Block it out..stick to your job, Nnamdi and we’ll try to get it done…Damn those receivers were fast…I still have a lot of work to do before I become the next Deion…that one pick of mine was sick..ok, back to work..Go Bears..”

Derrick Burgess: “Damn, that boy is good. (Willie Anderson) Ey man, every dog, has there day. I’m going to to take this damn frustration on the next chump sucka in the big O and we’ll see if I can make it back to Honolulu. Sure did like them Mai Tai’s..gotta get back to tastin’ that flava, boy..”

Aaron Brooks: ” I guess that nut Darth Raider was wrong about me. Maybe I’m not answer for this team…but I’m still trying to compete, damnit. Maybe I might be a little more effective with a stronger line. Eh..maybe I just su-..”

Ronald Curry: ” This is the best game for me yet since my injury. What’d I rack? 8 for 99? Sure, it might of been in garbage time, but I’m still the best receiver on this team…. at least I give a flying f$$## ”

Randy Moss: ” Why is Ronald giving me the evil motha f### eye? Who’s he think I am? Jerry Porter? Oh yeah..all that me wanting to be traded crap.Hmmm..I wonder if I can fake an injury? OWWWw…COACH! A game no mo!!! (moments later) Yeaaah..this is the life..just chill until I get traded while sittin’ on the bench..can’t wait for the next season…hope the Teams didn’t hear about how I got caught for rollin’ blunts for Sea Bass today in the Lockeroom..”

Sebastian Janikowski: ” Damn you, Randy. That’s the 3rd I kicked into the Goal Post because of yo sticky icky ooo weee. I thought that stuff was supposed to calm me not…YAaaaaaaWN….holy balls, am I hungry…”

Art Shell: “Ain’t this about a B. Maaaan, back in my day, we at least had heart…at least we wanted to play the game. This new day reminds too much of child day care and pop warner. I wonder if my job is safe? Yes, Mr Davis, I’m on it….”

3 games left my Oakland Raiders. How do you want to go out????

See you next Sunday, Nation…..

2007: Just wait, baby…

Minus 5 passing yards and a loss….can you %$## believe this? Words can’t even begin to explain the true anger and rage that consume me from loss to loss on a weekly basis! For as long as I have witnessed bad offenses….with Hos..George..Marc Wilson…Vince Evans…Tod Marijuanavich..I have a hard time remembering if any of those previous Offenses were THIS damn bad. 2 picks!??!? 3 Fumbles?!!!?!? What the hell is wrong with all of you?? THIS is what we pay hundreds of dollars for every season???
The positives? There are only 4 games left!! Aughhh!
Solutions? AUGHHHHHH!! WHERE DO I BEGIN? FIRE EVERYONE ON THE O!!!! WIPE THEM OUT!!! ALL OF THEM!!!!!!! EXECUTE ORDER 66!

That’s it, I’m out…..time to regather myself.. (Into my egg-like capsule chamber I go..)

Ok, I’m back. Let’s try to figure what the positives are on Offense and find out exactly who should and should NOT come back to our team for the up and coming 2007 season….

QUARTERBACKS: I’m not giving up on my main man, Brooks just yet. Sure the picks are a major concern, but the man still put up 238 yards and still has the will to win. I foresee him coming back and going into competition against another free agent QB during the Pre-season. Please, don’t fail me again, Brooks.
Tui and Walter….??? Hey, both of you guys showed heart at times, but I believe we need to go in another direction. Walter MIGHT have some hope…but only time will tell…the boy is still young. Can you envision Al Davis finally taking a QB in the 1st round?? Me neither. Or is the Notre Dame Quarterback, Brady Quinn that kind of a gifted athlete to make the Emperor reconsider?? Hmmmmm…
RUNNING BACKS: We need to address this position in the draft.I keep hearing whispers about taking the speedy Running Back from Oklahoma, Adrian Peterson…hell, why not?
Lamont keeps gets banged up throughout the season and none of the others seem to be 1st down back material. If we can either draft well or pick someone up from Free agency, I believe we can finally compete against the LT’s and Larry Johnson’s in our division…RB vs RB. Well.. that is.. of course, only if we address the TOP priority needed on our Offense…

THE OFFENSIVE LINE: Gallery has been broken down on several occasions, but has shown potential. The others? Man the hell up these last few games and we’ll see…
Me and my boy, Master Chad agree on fact that Mr. Al Davis finally needs to INVEST in some high quality free agent Offensive Linemen next year rather than drafting, because drafting from college hasn’t been really working out for us these past few years. Perhaps new Offensive line coaches might be beneficial too…
The Offense begins and ends with the O line. I hope one day we can be strong at this position again, for the sake of our future.

TIGHT ENDS: This might be the only position I wouldn’t necessarily change. I’m willing to forgive the fumbles and dropped catches due to the fact I have seen everyone of you make great plays at certain times. That 3 TE set is a hard formation to cover. If you guys work hard in the Off season, I can see you all coming back.

WIDES: Ronald Curry, I still have faith. Whitted? I’m not seeing you open enough, so uhh..peace…. Randy and Jerry? Your lack of passion will make you both a virus to your next team. Good riddance, faithless ones…. stay unhappy 4 me…

DEFENSE: All of you did something well Sunday. Derrick is still the man…Sapp still has it…the pass defense is STILL the bomb and the absolute best in the league. ALL OF YOU are invited back. Home Grown Kirk Morrison? Thanks for visiting the Dark Side after your Touchdown. I will always respect everyone of you. Rob Ryan? I’m now wondering what kind of a Head Coach you’d be? Speaking of that subject…

COACHING: Art, I will always respect what you have done for this team and still believe you are a good front man for our team. Evaluate the rest of your coaches this year and be honest about the pros and cons. We only have a few games left to figure out why Shoop should remain the Offensive Coordinator for next season. So far???? The Sith is unsure…still need to observe a few more games before I start hating or ravin’ about the guy….

Alright Nation, See ya next week….
Just win baby…..please……for the love of the damn force….
