So this is what it comes down to, Nation: 14 straight AFC Division losses. This year will be the LOWEST scoring Oakland Raider team of all time. Por Dios, THIS is after most thought we’d never do worse than last year. Well Kids, here we are.
We have 2 wins. That’s right, 2 wins as of Christmas Eve. We can only HOPE to achieve winning 3 against the New York Jets. Yeah, that’s correct…3…for the whole damn year. Personally, I think the word Frustration doesn’t quite describe what the Dark Lord of the Sith is feeling right now. I’m glad it still works for others…

“Personally, I’ve never been so frustrated. This game took something out of me because we came into the game knowing we could beat the Chiefs.” -Nnamdi Asomugha

Other personal also chimed in with their grief afterwards….

“I know I can play. There have been some tough times, and I’ve been part of that..but I don’t care what people say or what people think. I know I can play.” -Andrew Walter

“All I can say is, we’re just as disappointed as they are. We don’t go out and try to lose games.” -Art Shell

I kind of like the injured Robert Gallery’s assessment…
” Stupid sh%*% has happened this year.”

“I don’t really care if it’s division or not. I don’t even know what division I’m in. When you lose, you lose, it doesn’t matter to me if it’s Kansas City or Joe Blow. Then again, Joe Blow, I’m pretty sure we can beat him.” -Jarrod Cooper.
Man, do I love this guy. Quick story: I met the hard hitting Safety at Newpark mall in Newark last week and thanked him personally for being one of the most hilarious, outspoken Raiders on the current roster. “..Because not EVERY Raider calls Jerry Porter a jerk on TV..” I said. I kind of expected to him to possibly backpedal a bit, but instead he responded with “Ey man…some things are just a given! Jerry Porter IS A JERK!” All of the Raiders that were signing laughed their asses off….me too.

One more quote from MR. 8 INTs Nnamdi “Awesome” Asomugha on our current coach:
“I’ve already had enough coaches and enough rebuilding seasons. Give the guy a chance.”

Whoa Nellie, #21?!?!?…you want the man to stay? You know Rebels, I have to say I’m now torn between keeping the legendary Hall of famer and leaving him out in the frozen Christmas snow. Maybe the players should take a vote…not including Moss and “Pouter” of course…

I guess it doesn’t help with the NFL reporter (and former Bronco reporter) Adam Schefter claiming that Art WILL be fired after the season’s end. Recently, he claimed Art might be back. Make up your mind, chum……p.
You tell me Nation, do you really want a guy who is held responsible for the fewest Touchdowns in Raider history? Or, do you believe the losing was mostly because of our former Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line? All of this crap keeps the Sith up late at night.

Before I sound off, I want to thank all of the dedicated Raider fans that kept me warm inside the heart from the start in the house of the big O. My spirit, soul and passion could never of been without the essence of you…
Mom, Dad, Leonard, Gary, Peggy, Lisa, Linda, Louie, Chad ,Kay, Geoff, Big Dogg, Chuck, Gabe and his boys, Raider baby (Thanks 4 all the gifts!), Karen, Pirate Katie, Steve and his kids, Memo and his Pops and COUNTLESS others that love and support me through the dark times. I love you guys. Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you get all you ask for..well, MOST OF what you ask for..

One more game to show progress Nation. I’ll see you in New York, Master Jedi’s.

Yes Art shell should be left out in the snow. I blame him for everything thats has gone wrong with the raiders this season. I blame him for the poor offensive coaching because he picked walsh to be his coordinator and waited too late to change coaches, and shoop is no better. Then he brought in a bunch of inexperienced coaches to coach the offensive line and drafted a bunch of lineman who should have been picked up in the later rounds or in free agency with high picks he could have used on more talented players or O lineman.Tell me how are you a hall of fame o lineman and can’t coach an o-line to save your life? The best thing going for the raiders this year was the defense and thats only because he had nothing to do with that,( all hail coach ryan) and if he did we would be even worse in that dept. And to top it all off he doesn’t coach,I mean name the last time you remember shell callining a play? When you watch him on the sideline all you see him do is stand there and watch while walsh or who evers coordinating calls the plays. He doesn’t have the respect of the players anymore, I know there are more unhappy players than just moss and porter, I believe they’re just the only ones who aren’t scared to bring it to the lime lite.As a matter of fact when you listen to jordan, sapp, and andrew walter it sounds as if they wouldn’t care if he goes. And like asomuagh said,he’s seen enough coaches come through there thats why I say promote coach ryan to head coach, bring in an offensive genious to breathe life into our offense and let coach ryan choose someone who knows his style of defense and bring the nation back to the top where we belong and always have been.(:

Man, I’m torn. On the one hand, I agree that Art should go, and I wouldn’t mind it one bit. I think he brought in with him offensive coaches with little to no experience at coaching. Walsh was a horrible choice for OC, and I never agreed with that move. Jackie Slater and Irv Eatman clearly became horrible choices for O-Line coaches, and neither one has had experience coaching. I think that was more deplorable than bringing in Walsh, because at least Walsh has done it before. We saw some reoccuring things from the last time Shell was coach too, like the lack of clock management, the defense being on the field too long, etc. We also saw some new things he failed miserably at, like challenging calls by a ref. I know he’s old school, and they didn’t do it the last time he was coach, but Shell has been in the front offices for the NFL the past several years, and he knows better.
On the other hand, I wonder if his coaches and offense fail because he was hired late, and had to come in immediately with a plan, and didn’t really have time to polish the blocking schemes, play design/calling, etc. Was this the reason that kept Wisenhunt, Saunders, Payton, and others away from excepting a deal, because they knew they didn’t have the time to prepare properly to be an effective coach?
Here’s my decision. If Art is not kept as coach, put him in as a GM, in place of Lombardi. Promote Rob Ryan to Head Coach, letting him choose his DC (hopefully it would be his brother Rex). Bring in Dennis Green as Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Coach, since he is friends with Al Davis and Art Shell. Let him pick his coaches, with the exception of Freddie B at receiver’s coach. I like Dennis Green as a Coordinator, not a HC. He’s a players guy, and understands the players, and understands offense. Then we will have what it takes to (in the words of Green himself) “Crown their asses!”
