Whos House? Porterhouse!

So the big news is not the minor fact that Mr. Jerry Porter has changed his number from 84 to to 81. (Timmy must be rolling in his grave!) But rather, that the former “Mr Pouter” has hopped aboard the “Lane train” program.

“For me the new number represents a new start, a new beginning and new attitude,” Porter said in a statement released by the team. “I’ve had multiple meetings with coach Kiffin and I am very excited about the direction of our team and especially our offense. I can’t wait to get started.”
And just like that, all is forgotten. Fans are now more likely to forgive and forget his intolerant behavior given in the past.Well..most fans…
I for one, the dark Lord of the Sith, master of of all evil, will forgive his negative outbursts. Only because he predicted in the beginning of the 2006 season that Art Shell’s methods would not work and was later on named a prophet of things yet to come. Remember..your Jedi strengths to foresee into the future are exceptional , Jerry..but not as powerful as Master Darth’s.
I would suggest next time, if you have ANOTHER problem with the Coaching staff, to please keep it IN HOUSE. No one likes a whiner, son.
So what does this mean for Randy Moss? More unhappiness? I suspect the former Pro Bowler would rethink his situation after hearing that his bickering buddy is no longer bickering.
I guess another big question is: Do the Oakland Raiders actually want the speedy one dimensional Wide Receiver? The force tells me if the offer is right, the Raiders will take it. (rumored to be a 3rd round draft pick and an experienced receiver the Raiders are shopping)
Considering what we paid for the Afro alone, I don’t think we’re giving him away for cracked peanuts.
Maybe the situation will present itself when Randy comes up with a decision. I just hope the response is given sooner than later. If he makes a negative statement now, maybe we can use him as trade bait when the 2007 Draft arrives….all too easy.
If he makes a positive response….well, I’m still not sure Coach Kiffen knows how to use the go route Wide Receiver into a west coast style offense.
In other news, JeMarcus Russell is supposed to be available to the media on Friday. Hopefully the big guy will tell us all if Al Davis and Lane Kiffen are on is on his “Fave 5″ cell list. Can the College Champion truly help out team? Hard to see, the dark side is…
keep it dark and shiny…

No Candy Hearts for Darth.

Happy Valentines day ya saps! Throw me a Raiderette to hold and kiss, please. HEY! I didn’t even get candy today! Oh wait..yeah, I did….ate it too quick.

Good job, Mr. Burgess. In limited minutes, the folded armed beast obtained one tackle and one sack in the Pro
Bowl held last Saturday in Hawaii. It’s just too bad we didn’t have Teleportation devices. If we did, Mr. Nnamdi Asomugha would of accepted the invitation given by the NFL and be ready for last weeks game. The NFL recently called him Thursday night and said they needed the All-Star Cornerback at the last minute. Swell, maybe next year the higher ups will give the Cal graduate a call earlier than a day or two.
Don’t worry, Nnamdi..I can foresee more invites in the future…and if they’re late next time, you can borrow my Tie-Fighter 2008.
Light Speed, son..there is no substitute.

You guys hear of the up and coming Award dinner held for Nnamdi? On March 9, 2007, the steering committee for The Oakland Raiders Booster Clubs will honor Pro Bowl CB Nnamdi Asomugha during the 5th Annual Commitment to Excellence Award Presentation Dinner at the Hilton - Oakland Airport. The cost is about 85 bucks a plate and provides prime rib and dancing all night. The only question I’m asking myself is; will I be attending with the mask on or off? I mean, which decision will a Raiderette be more impressed with?
You’re right, mask on.
In other news, the Raiders have hired Brian Schneider as special teams coordinator and Curtis Fuller as special teams quality control assistant.”Brian has had success with special teams everywhere he has been in his career and I’m very confident in his abilities,” said Raiders Head Coach Lane Kiffin. “We interviewed a number of candidates for this position and Brian always remained our number one choice. Solid special teams play needs to be a signature of this football team and both Brian and Curtis will work together to make sure that this happens.”
Last but not least, I’d like to leave you all with a little tid bit reported by Mel Kiper on his comparison between Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch:
“In terms of Peterson, he’s just a better overall talent. He’s going to run a 4.37 40…with a 38″ vertical, 8% body fat and he’s been considered the best-conditioned athlete on OU’s team and he’s very talented. Some guys come into the NFL with injury histories and never get hurt again. Lynch doesn’t make guys miss as much. He’s more of a pounder, difficult to tackle, a lot of yards after contact. His 34 receptions matched his total for the previous two seasons combined. I just think Peterson’s skill level is higher. Peterson could go as early as 3 or 4, while Lynch will go in the middle of the first round, like 16 to Green Bay”.
You think Adrian Peterson could go sooner? Like maybeeee..#1? Ask Emperor Al.
Until next time, Rough Raiders. Peace in your hood.

The Force is strong with these ones

Wow, if you blink an quick eye you’re sure to miss a new position filled by the Oakland Raiders. The following spots are now occupied:
Defensive Backs Coach: Darren Perry (who coached defensive backs for the Pittsburgh Steelers last year)
Offensive Line Coach: Tom Cable ( who spent the past season as Offensive Line Coach for the Atlanta Falcons…#1 in rushing! Vick, Shmick! Their RB had over 1,1,00 yards!)
Assistant Offensive Line Coach: Kelly Skipper (has 18 years of coaching experience and has served as an offensive coordinator at the NCAA Division I level. He also spent two summers, one with Seattle and one with Washington, as an NFL minority coaching fellowship intern.)
Director of Football Development: Mark Jackson (Jackson was Director of Football Operations/Assistant Athletic Director at the University of Southern California from 2001-05, where he helped Head Coach Pete Carroll rebuild the Trojans program back to prominence)
Whew! What’s next? Darth Raider, Lord of the Sith, Master of all evil coaching the D Line? Hey, it could happen! I am a beast at executing graceful swim moves! I’m positive I could get through our O-line any day of the week….
Hell, everyone else did- Ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing! Zooom! Pow! Just Kidding Guys…

How was your Super Bowl, Nation? Yeah, we didn’t make it…so the hell what. Make it interesting by betting! I sure do! Plus add a drinking game every time the Colts score and you got yourself a good time. (urrp…Thanks Donna and Randy) Payton was hot as a Hibachi grill and sent DA BEARS to hibernate. They showed heart though…well, up until about the 3rd Quarter.
Oh man..poor Common and Kayne West. They made a whole rap about how the Bears were going to dominate the Super Bowl. With lyrics spouting “we gonna bring the pain to Reggie Wayne” and “We Gross,man”..how could this song miss?
Oh yeaeeh..if they freagin’ lost. If you’d like to hear it go to:

HILARIOUS.

How about my boy, Prince? I sense you all liked it! He should of sang Darth’s personal favorite “Black Sweat” though..

Ooops..back to Football..you hear about the 3rd rounder for Moss rumor?
The rumor mill says Randy Moss probably won’t play another game with the Oakland Raiders. The latest reports have Moss getting into a verbal fight with new head coach Lane Kiffin.

Its rumored that the Raiders are looking for a 3rd rounder and a veteran receiver for Moss.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre has asked the team to consider acquiring Moss.

If a Moss to Green Bay trade becomes a reality it could shake up the first round. The Raiders would give more consideration to selecting Calvin Johnson with the first pick and the Packers would be unlikely to draft a receiver high with Moss, Donald Driver, and Greg Jennings leading their receiving corp.
Who knows if all of this is valid though. Lately, I’m hearing more rumors than the ones tossed around in a Barbershop.

Currently, the force tells me (ok maybe another rumor) Al Davis is picking Joe Thomas.
You know you have something special when an offensive lineman can play multiple positions. As a freshman, Thomas played on the offensive line, as a tight end, and even started a game at defensive end. As a sophomore, he became entrenched at left tackle for the Badgers and has not looked back since. As a junior, he was a consensus All American, and had the opportunity to declare for the draft until a torn ACL ended those thoughts in the Capital One Bowl. Thomas came back strong this year though, and regained the form he had shown in previous years and once again earned All America honors.
Thomas is the prototypical left tackle prospect. He has a long, lean frame with the room to add more weight as he gets bigger. He combines that size with excellent athleticism and agility. Thomas is a great pass protector with his mobility and his long arms, and easily adjusts to moves by the defender. In the running game, once he locks on to a defender, he’s not getting away. With his experience in the Big 10, he’s a player that will be ready to play from Day 1.
The only pressing issue with Thomas is the knee injury he suffered in January. Playing on the defensive line because of depth issues for the Badgers, he tore his right ACL. He needs to prove that he’s back at full strength and that there are no lingering issues with the knee.
Thomas is a franchise tackle prospect if completely healthy. The knee is a concern though.
Maybe Al will overlook the injury and go with the kid’s heart.
until next time, Raider Renegades…
stay silver and black, macs…
