I sense in your heart of hearts, you feel it’s truly only a one man battle: Daunte Culpepper of old versus Duante Culpepper of 2007. I applaud your insight, young Padawon…but you still have much to learn.
Against the Lambs, Josh McCown completed 6/9 passes gaining 138 yards while Daunte was 4/8 gaining 47 yards and scoring one big TD. Sure, Josh was going against the 2nd team last Friday, but check this out; throughout the Pre-season (with 1 game McCown was also starting) he has completed 19/35 passes for a net of 277 yards. Daunte? 15/28 for only 200 yards. The big difference in the two?

So do all these statistics mean the Dark Lord of the Sith is actually favoring a QB who didn’t even start all of last year?
Perhaps.
Perhaps not.
But I do believe I need to see one more game played before I make a final decision.
Seattle will also be a better test for our team..
