Whatup Nation???!?!
Pop Quiz, Hotshot! So if YOU were given the choice to offer your #4 overall pick for Mr. Ocho Cinco OR get a quality Defensive linemen in the draft, what would you do???
WHAT DO YOU DO????!?!??!??
This question keeps boggling Darth’s mind. Maybe Cincinnati will take the bait…
or not.
Apparently, the unhappy Chad Johnson story is not going away…..

Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson left no room for doubt Wednesday: He wants out of Cincinnati as fast as possible and he doesn’t plan on reporting for any future Bengal function — mandatory or voluntary.
What spurred Johnson’s immediate reaction was a statement made by quarterback Carson Palmer that indicated Johnson had told Palmer he would be at the team’s mandatory minicamp in mid-June. Johnson said that wasn’t true.
“I want to make this very clear,” Johnson said Wednesday. “I don’t know where he got that. I made no assertion to Carson that I would do that. Nothing has changed from what I’ve been saying for three months that I don’t want to play for the Bengals.”
Johnson made one of his strongest statements in saying he is not planning on reporting to any team functions because he wants to be traded.
“I want to be traded before the draft, and if that doesn’t happen, I want to be traded as soon as possible,” Johnson said. “I don’t intend on reporting to anything.”
The Bengals said they have no comment in response to Johnson’s statements. A team spokesman pointed to coach Marvin Lewis’ statement at the owners meeting that he has fully discussed the Johnson situation and didn’t feel it was productive to talk about it again.
Johnson is skipping the team’s offseason workouts as he tries to push for a trade. But the Bengals have also made it clear that they have no plans of trading him.
Lewis has said repeatedly that the team has no plans to deal Johnson, despite the wide receiver making the rounds of radio and television talk shows to voice his displeasure about his situation in Cincinnati.
In a February interview with Jim Rome, Johnson said he felt he was being blamed for the Bengals’ problems and disappointing showing last season.
“I’m not allowed to say. I get the blame; the so-called best player, I’m the problem,” he said. “Someone in-house is spreading this. Maybe they want me to quiet down [and] stop being me. That is not going to happen. I can’t function that way. I tried it. It sucked. There was no excitement.”
Last month, on ESPN’s First Take, Johnson again hinted at wanting a trade.
“I want to continue my career wherever I have the opportunity to win a playoff game and get to the Super Bowl. That’s where I want to be,” he said.
Wednesday, the Pro Bowl wide receiver said he was surprised by Palmer’s comments about his possibly reporting to mandatory camp.
“I wish he would stay out of my business,” Johnson said.
Damn, it’s getting ugly in Cinci..
Peace,
DR

Chad Johnson, Raiders pick #4, and late rounder for Fabian Washington and Cincy pick #9,…

    I like that trade

  2. Mac Black (Mark Armstead) Says:

I think we did a good job in the off season in suring up the Defense.
Trade our #2, Fabian Washington for Chad and their #7.
There will be plenty of D-linemen that can substitute plays for Joseph, and Kelly. Dont forget salary cap casualties from other teams.
Jay Rich should be comming into his own this year.

  3. Mac Black (Mark Armstead) Says:

TaKE OUR 1ST ROUND PICK; # 4 IS WHAT i MEANT TO SAY

  4. RaiderAtownMatt Says:

So, Johnson Curry Carter? I like the sound of that.

  5. RaiderFan Says:

I was disappointed with the Javon Walker deal, IMO, a risky deal…soooo give up Fabian Washington, Javon Walker & Pick #4 for Chad.

    GO RAIDERS

  6. Jim Stack Says:

fabian washington, lamont jordan, javon walker (if they’ll take that salary) and a 4th round pick. DO NOT GIVE UP THE #4. GHOLSTON BABY!

  7. Will Says:

Johnson is a proven trouble maker. Kiffin is still the youngest head coach in the NFL + there are all the rumors about Al being unhappy with him. There’s no veteran leader on the offense. This is a bad combination. Pass on Johnson.
The Raiders have too many needs to get by with just 1 pick in the 1st 3 rounds of the draft. If they can’t get at least a 3rd round pick for Fabian Washington, they need to trade down from #4. The problem is that you may not know FW’s trade value until after that #4 pick.
I’d like to know what people think about Gholston - is he really an athlete but not a football player?

No Darth, it has to stop man. Stop rewarding players for showing off during the reqular season and not just straight playing football. He is getting just like TO asking for all the attention all the glory than he gets criticized and he goes on Rome crying about what Chad wants, where Chad wants to be, what Chad wants. What about the fans that cheered for that guy. I went down to Cinn. and they love Chad Johnson. Heck, last year he was racing against race horses for charity, doing the Chicken Dance in the street at the festival, making proposals to cheerleaders, wearing hall of fame blazers. Now he is mad? What? This brother has more opportunity, fame and cash then less 2% of the population on this planet and we are suppose to cry for this guy, and welcome poor Chad into the Raider Nation and allow him to sport that sweet silver and black and represent our team like that? We had some wild Raider Nation Cards in the day but they could back it up. They did not start crying about what they want every time it rains on their turf if you know what I mean. No Darth!!!!! We need to use our pick #4 or trade with someone else. Great talent but Chad is going about this the wrong way to be rewarded and now he is pulling Palmer into all of this and his team down. If he was playing with the Bengal’s they may have a chance to make the playoffs but millions are not enough for Chad he would rather mouth off the whole offseason instead of inspiring his team to get better. All we need is Chad and Hall going at it in a popularity contest.

  10. CJ Legend 34 Says:

Did we not learn anything from Randy Moss? Moody talented receivers don’t work for us. Remember we gifted Randy Moss to New England to get them to the Superbowl (thank God they loss). I guess we will take Chad Johnson now for our #4 to gift to New England in 2010 for a 3rd round pick.

We will take Chad but we won’t risk our pick on D-Mac.
Heck I would play him at flanker 1st.

  11. Patrick Says:

    Good take bro.

No way in HELL should we give the #4 for Ocho straight up, and if C Long is on the board NOT AT ALL.

  12. Raidersw Says:

“RaiderFan”, I think we’d need to get Cinn. #9 in the deal. Washington, Walker and pick #4 are too much for Johnson, throw in Cinn. #9 and that’s a deal, Just as “El Tato” pointed out in the first post, (without Walker).

  13. Nolen Says:

A better scenerio would be us trading down. How bout grabbing a LT like Otah or Clady and then a WR like Jackson or Hardy? I’m sure we could get a nice DT or DE in a trade down right? Salaries and needs seem more important…but that would lead to another article about a worn out subject we’ve been reading about for weeks…way to make us either love or hate this article lol.

  14. Mad Road Dog Says:

We do not need distractions like ocho cino. We need to rebuild a very porous “O” line and “D” line. A LT, DT and a stud MLB

  15. Aaronraider13 Says:

Are you people crazy???? Chad Johnson in a Raider uniform would be nothing but trouble. All of his stupid antics would be turned into a major negative by the media and the league. We don’t need that kind of attention. We need the kind of attention you get when you kick teams asses. Not the kind you get from doing some stupid dance when your team is down by 14 and you finally score a touchdown with 2:00 left on the clock and the game is decided.

  16. Breezy Says:

As much as I love watching ocho cinco’s antics, I don’t think we need him on our team. I agree with Will, we don’t have a veteran leader on offense. The Randy Moss project is over. Although playing the scenario on Madden football with ocho cinco as a Raider makes our offense powerful, the game doesn’t account for his mood swings if you don’t give him the ball.

Here’s a scenario for another article… Uncle Al sneaking out of no where on draft day to trade Washington, Jordan and a pick in the 09 draft for Jarred Allen.

  17. mike Says:

Better idea i think the whole league should just let the crybaby retire, hes blessed to be playing in the nfl and making the kind of money hes making, Enough of hese me me mes in the league, No 1 man makes the game period!!

  18. Florida Pete Says:

    has everyone been banned????

  19. cavalrysword Says:

I am not a fan of Oh So Stinko.

If you want to make a trade for a player that will have an impact and sell tickets, get Chris Long!

  20. joey bee 1 Says:

Chad is cancer. Don’t do it. What’s he going to do if we happen to go 4-12 again? Demand a trade? This guys head has out grown him and he needs to be put in his place. The dude went to Community College. Why didn’t he get a scholarship then? Maybe because he’s dumb as a rock and is cancer.
    I say no to Chad.

  21. RaiderKen Says:

I like Ocho Cinco, but the 4th overall pick?
Now he sounds exactly like Randy Moss last year.
Why do I want to go through that again?
    O.K. a mid 4th round pick.

  22. Dylan Says:

Mad Road Dog, Did you meen a strong side linebacker or do you dislike Morrison? I think he is a stud. We do need help on the strong side.

  23. 702nation Says:

I cant believe people are comparing Chad to Randy, Chad never quit on his team, Randy did, when Randy came to the Nation I loved it but he is the type of player you have to have other stars around him because he wont carry a team, as much as I dislike T.O he will give you 100% everytime he laces his cleats, so saying all that I wouldn’t have a problem at all with Chad coming to the Nation via trade, we wouldnt have to give up much because they would be trading up from 9 to 4 we would give them Washington or Routt they would give us Chad and a low round pick in next years draft also.

  24. SR Raider Says:

Dylan - Mad Road Dog is right. We need a monster middle linebacker so we can put Morrison at strong outside LB, where he would be even better than he is now. Add this piece and our linebackers are top tier, just like the secondary should be. This is where stopping the run really needs to happen.

  25. antispy3 Says:

Uh, blowing off the off season conditioning program & proclaiming himself a no-show for training camp isn’t quitting on your team? At least Randy showed up for most of the games (until a “mysterious” ankle injury did him in).

Don’t get me wrong. I, too, was dismayed (to the tune of four, count ‘em, four, Moss jerseys. Got a sweet deal on E-Bay. Little did I know) by the team captain, of all people, going on FOX Radio, openly expressing his discontent and displaying it on Sundays. However, Ocho has proclaimed for the free football observing world his intentions. Why would we need “the second coming” of “the quitter?”

Naw. better to allow a true “leader” to emerge from within; the old fashioned Raider way. Us against them & let the hard working/vocal “trend setters” evolve from there. This is a relatively young team; Nnamdi will lead with his work ethic/intelligence; D.Hall will be a vocal presence; Morrison, the D’s signal caller will lead on that basis.

DRuss will utilize his amazing skill set, natural charisma, will to compete/win & mew found work ethic to inspire the offense. Zack Miller’s all-around game will help, as will O’Ren O’Neal’s physicality while pulverizing LB’s & unsuspecting DB’s. If they do, in fact draft DMac (as stated earlier I will upport whomever Al annoints as the #1 pick, although I opt to trade down & address LOT, hopefully to the tune of either Ryan Clady or Branden Albert & Dline in later rounds, he too allegedly is equipped with the “charisma” thing.

So it’s all good. Just avoid the “Ocho Sinkhole.”

    It’s snowing again in the (425) & (206)!

We get the Dalai Lama (in Seattle), the Right (wrong) Coast gets the Pope & a beaitful/warm Spring Clime.

Just goes to show; the Holy See wields more pull with the Big Guy (for anyone’s content, I’m just joking. The girlfriend fancies herself a Buddhist, so I better keep my tongue firmly in cheek. Or forever hold it in my hand).

Gotta hope for a smokin’ hot (like the girlfriend; gotta’ score those bonus points) summer. Just in time for training camp.

    Late (for dinner! Gotta’ run)

  27. raiderjambo Says:

Sorry my fellow Raider Nation, but Chad Johnson is too much baggage! Besides, we need somebody who can stick it to LT & LJ, and make our opponents try to beat us through their passing game. With the secondary we have that’s going to be tough. So I have to agree with some of my fellow Raider bretheren, pass on Chad!

  28. drray Says:

chad is a player, if we can get him for a trade for FW or LJ plus a third next year or second next year it would be worth it, or if we swapped first rounders, but not straight up for #4, thats too valuable

  29. scott Says:

Anyone like this idea,,, We trade our first round this year (#4) a second rounder next year and either Fabian Washington or Sanford Routt for Ocho Cinco and the Bnegals first round pick this year where we can take either Ryan Clady or Sedrick Ellis. I would even throw in Lamont Jordan,, but I guess thats not sweetening the pot.Whaddya Think?

  30. FIRE KIFFIN Says:

    Just Win Baby.

  31. matt Says:

I’d say keep the #4 and trade Lamont Jordan, Fabian Washington, and Stanford Routt for second and third rd picks.

  32. GAFL211 Says:

no way we give up a lot for ocho cinco ! he is old and a proven cancer maybe if it was the missing piece to a super bowl! but its not !!we have too many holes and I would prefer to stay young so that all our studs peak with jamarcus. go d-line and stop the damn run please!! check the stats its our biggest weakness !!what did we get for moss a #3 or #4 and he’s no moss !!

  33. El Tato Says:

    Trade value (my opinion):

    - Fabian Washington: Late 2 rounder / early 3 rounder
    - Stanford Routt: Late 2 ronder / early 3 rounder
    - LaMont Jordan: no value, 7 rounder at best
    - Stuart Schweigert: no value

I think we should trade Fabe Washington, since he is still very young, former first rounder, great speed,… Any team with a need at CB could trade their 2/3 round pick because they are not likely to find a starting CB in this year draft with that picks and Fabe will start right now.

If Washington is traded, Routt should stay in Oakland. I really like Routt, and see him as a starting caliber player. Hall trade really hurted him.

  34. eyen Says:

SO…guess this blew over finally eh?!?! lol I still wouldnt mind. Maybe all of these acquisitions will lead to a trade…tbd.
