RIP63
I hate to be Peter pessimist, but I can’t help to think about the current negatives regarding our team….
then again, I’m the evil, dreadful, Darth F$##ing Raider.
How do you not even score a field goal against the C-list, scrub filled, Flea Market brand Arizona Cardinals???
I understand the fact that Kiffin had to find out what kind of passing ability the offense had to offer, but to pass on almost every down!?!? That’s not really simulating what the team is actually trying to do this year.
C’mooon…Every Coach knows that you have to set up the pass by running and also vice-versa. I mean Jam’s currently a gifted passer with tons of potential, but he’s not Mr. Super accurate, Rich Gannon (yet).
Perhaps a more realistic game plan will be implemented against the Seahawks…..
uh, hopefully.
At least Javon Skywalker FINALLY showed some moves on the dance floor. 4 for 60 yards is not what you’re fully capable of, but it will have to do for now, Trooper.
May the Force be with you.
Defense, in the first half, you all played like you wanted to break the Pre-season interception record.
I know the main reason was due to the crappy play of Matt “I banged Paris” Leinart, but it was still impressive. Let’s just hope the stamina of the entire team works just as well as the Corners and Safeties hands.
Drew Carter, Oren O’ Neal..you will be missed. Fans will now have to wonder how many great plays both players could of contributed to the team.
I guess Luke Lawton has his work cut out for him. Anyone really know this guy?
I looked at his stats, and nothing really stood out. The real test is if he can block for our group of talented Running Backs.
Mike Bush…to block? This might be a work in progress. He is big enough, (6′1, 245 pounds) but blocking may not be his strong point. I love the idea of having him in the backfield with D-mac or Fargas..but SOMEBODY has to bang and block to save the QB…
especially on those nasty blitz packages.
The bigger problem seems to be filling out the WR roster.
We know Ronald Curry has shown he can play…Javon; sort of…
but everyone else?
Much to learn, they still have.
Joe Horn or Koren Robinson?
Eck and eek.
Maybe we should stick with trusting Johnnie Lee Higgins..
or just pray to all religious Gods in the Universe…
#63.. you will be remembered as one of the best to ever wear the Silver and Black..
I am thankful for watching a real Guard of your power to play like a Giant crushing his tiny victims with his enormous arms and hands.
Quotes:
“Gene was a true pioneer as one of the few African American leaders of a major union. He was the equal of owners in negotiations and made the league a better place for all players. Playing alongside of Gene was an honor and a privilege. He was a pillar of strength and leadership for our great Raider teams.” - statement released by former Oakland Raiders player and coach Art Shell, and his wife Janice.
“Few people in the history of the National Football League have played the game as well as Gene and then had another career in football with so much positive impact on the structure and competitiveness of the entire league as Gene. In both careers, if you hit him in the head, he could hit you back twice as hard - but he didn’t always do so.He was very tough but also a good listener. He never lost sight of the interests of the game and the big picture.” - former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue.
Gene was a great player. He was an All-Pro. He was a Hall of Famer. If you look at the history of the NFL you’re going to find out that he was one of the most influential people that the league has known. He did so much, not only for the players, but also for the owners, the teams, and the game of pro football,” John Madden,
Rest in Peace, Governor.
