The Rookie runs wild

Praise the Force, the Oakland Raiders are now in 2nd place in the AFC West!!!
Sure, we don’t know for how long, if the team will tank or tumble towards the playoffs, if we’ll have a Coach to the morrow..if we’ll eventually be in last place in league pass defense..
but we at least know Darren McFadden can run like hell!
What a display of incredible talent!
Linemen, you swallowed your opponent like you haven’t eaten in years.
For every yocal who ever complained about Gallery, I invite you to re-watch the tape, sirs.
Cornell, Coop, Jake and the newly added “Super Mario” Henderson played magnificently.
300 total yards rushing with no sacks given is not an easy accomplishment.
After the line pinned their men, the D-machine ran through the Defense like a sword through tracing paper. He kept agile, mobile and hostile? Nah, #20 never even lost his cool! The kid had 162 yards in only his 2nd game!! Someone buy me a damn Jersey!
I’ll take a Michael Bush jersey too. I knew it was only a matter of time before the wrecking ball would break through the Defensive. BOOM! 90 Yards from a 3rd string back..
have it!!!
Defense, that was a hell of an effort. Huard looked dazed and “Coastal Carolina” looked confused for mostly the entire game. The added blitz packages worked well resulting in 5 sacks (Howard, Burgess, Morrison, Warren and Edwards) and several hurries caused by the rest of the mean D. I KNEW the Kansas City Offense would try to pick on D-Hall, but the veteran actually held up pretty well today. DeAngelo even had a few shots at intercepting the ball. Next time, shut the haters up for good, Hall. You owe us a lot more for getting burnt to a crisp (or a corpse) last week.
Nnamdi also played exceptional, as usual. I don’t believe that was P.I. on Tony Gonzales..
Sheez, will that fool retire already?
Johnnie Lee Higgins, you keep running THIS well on Kick off returns and we’re in for more scoring in the weeks to come. I’m not actually sure if the special team blocking is improved or you’ve just actually gotten faster with your instincts…
WHATEVER IT IS?!?! It’s working!
Eh, now if only the passing game can catch up to the rest of the squad…
6/17 for 55 yards???? JAM, WTF?!??!? I know that the added pressure can be tough on you at times, but damn son!
Was it that windy? Were the Receivers just not finding enough space?
It appears Ronald Curry lacks confidence to catch the ball when the team needs him to convert on critical downs, while the rest of the Wides just can’t find the separation Russell needs.
I thought Zack Miller would run wild all over the Chiefs today, but he only came down with 2 catches for 24 yards.
There was only 1 catch made by an actual Wide Receiver:
Ashley Lelie had a catch for 11 yards.
How much is Javon Walker getting paid again?
I’m now thinking he actually did retire..
I’m just not sure if the rest of team is aware of it.
Will Kiffin be fired?
I hope not. Argue if you must, but I believe Coach Kiff has not had enough time to turn things around in the big O. I mean, Art Shell had more time than this!!
I also believe he currently doesn’t have enough talent to make this team a contender.
He asked for talent last year and got water pistols instead of guns…
(PENDING!)
If he does indeed make this 2008 team a contender? He was the right choice.
Give him a year, Al.
Even ol’ Chucky himself had 2 years under his belt before he had a winning season. The main factor I witness is improvement.
Note to all: the running game has improved. I’m not sure the passing game can do the same, but I’m willing to wait..
Reminder: This is only Russell’s 3rd start!
Jay Cutler’s? 23rd..
If Kiffin does get fired, what is the next logical solution?
Promote James Lofton? Rob Ryan?
Hire Mooch? Dennis Green?
I’m actually pulling the saber out if you picked the latter…
I think the Emperor should at least show him a little respect for this current win. I know it’s the lowly Chiefs, but C’MON!! 1-1 and done????
Never in all my days have I seen a Coach fired from the Oakland Raiders after adding a win to his record….
I hope I never will.
Peace and the proper Punishment,
DR

Thanks Darth. Good article as usual. I agree, in that I hope AD finds some sense & does NOT fire Kiffin. The four wins in 2007 was very admirable because the team lacks talent! Kiffin, at the very least has the team attempting to go in the right direction. Kiffin HAS made a difference & that gives this long time fan HOPE. If AD is so football smart, he WILL give Kiffin time to turn this wreck around!
If anyone should go it’s AD. IMO he’s the one making poor decisions…$55million to Javon Walker…that much $ to an injured WR is beyond ridiculous!@
Thanks again & take care.

Big Al is the only one that needs to go, unfortunately it is his team. DeAngelo for $70m and Javon for $55M are two good pieces of evidence that Al done lost his mind for good.
Wow, blitzing does work too bad we had to suffer 4 quarters of embarrassment to the donkey’s to figure it out. I actually figured it out by the middle of the 1st series but I guess Ryan couldn’t get in touch with Big Al to ask permission during the game?

Yea, we just beat the lowly chiefs, just barely. What the hell are we going to do next week, when we go agaist a team that has confidence and could run the ball ? Were gonna get killed again and again and again. We suck from top to bottom. Rob Ryan stinks and so does Al Davis, Kiffin is right, but sounds like a little baby, he’s going about it the wrong way. At the break were gonna be 1-3 ,Kiffin gets fired, and the merry go round starts up again, yea we really have something to get happy about, we beat the chiefs!

That win againsty KC feels like a breath of fresh air. I told my friends that if we lost to the Chiefs, I was done with the Raiders. I just can’t take the stupid mental mistakes, penalties, over paid players, letting games go in the 4th quarter etc…. Seriously we Raider fans have high hopes for this season (and last). It breaks my heart when teams kick us in the teeth and we say, “Thankyou, May I have another?” Last year I hoped Jam Rus would come in and put up some wins for us, then He doesn’t sign till after week 1!…anyhow thats all old news/pain. I just have few more things to say:
-Recievers= Catch the BALL!
-Jam Russel= Throw the BALL!
-Rob Ryan= Blitz the BALL!
(Please)Just Win Baby
-Kiffin=dry off the BALL!

I’ve been saying it since last year, Ron Curry is a bum. He has no reason being in a uniform. We need to cut him now. Its only going to get worse. It’s obvious that he can’t catch the football. How many more drops will it take for the Nation to relize that he’s a bum. Let him go, let the rookies play and hopefully Walker can stop feeling sorry for himself.
Al, get us some wide recievers and why Ricky Brown playing? Is he really all we have? Fix it.

Interesting how this weeks defensive plan involved blitzes and pressure fronts with obvious success. I wish i saw the game-got to see the pat’s pull out a win against bret and jets spawned by an offense pass interference call. The call was so bogus i thought i was at a raiders game. That changed the mo of the game and bret then threw a pick. If al fires Kiff, he’s will have nailed the coffin shut in my mind for me!!
Game plan up Kiff and Rob, Buff and Juron are for real!

Darth I agree with you…Please Mr.Davis just keep Kiffin around for two more years, upgrade the personnel department and bring in a Real General Manager ala. Wolf, Allen…I, as an educated fan am promising you….POSSIBLE AFC Championship games again!!!! For this team to actually, even possibly this year, turn some heads and make a run we must have consistency in the systems! We all know this, you, Mr. Davis, must know it as well. Mr. Davis when you were Kiffin’s age you would have been pulling the same kind of crap he is…let it slide. His team is behind him, and any Raider fan with an IQ above 75 can see that. Kiffin knows how to motivate people without getting too personal. (See Mario Henderson’s performance.) This team played a better game last sunday since 2002. It would be a friggin shame to see this guy get fired now. Mr. Davis if you truly only care about winning, do the right thing.

Guys:
It takes time, A.D. has really lost his head, He needs to step away, ’cause the GAME has past him by. he can’t work that ole magic….
Kiffin needs a little more time, without AL (the Diaper) on his butt. We have a real young team. heaven help us…….Gulp. Oh well just win baby !
