I need a remedy

Well, it was fun while it lasted, Nation. At least the force gave us a taste of victory for a good week..
then today happened.
The same kind of outcome has visited our doorsteps on yet another black and empty Sunday…
The same kind of mishaps have revisited our silver and black Soldiers. .
The same kind of problem’s have plagued our team…
once again.
JaMarcus Russell, the jury is still out, kid. Some Fans still want to complain about your lack of progress made. Some still want to label you as a bust..
The others..just hope you’re learning something new with every game played.
I have to admit, the possibility of you becoming one of the David Carr’s, Alex Smith’s, etc., etc. has crossed the Lord of the Sith’s mind.
What if you never get the help you need?
What if you never receive help within your offensive line? (as you all might know by now, Kwame Harris might not be the best fit in the World)
What if they’re are no valuable recievers that will EVER want to join your offense?
What if you never get control of that “Wild Thing” meathead persona of all muscle and no control?
(I can almost hear the Major Leauge chants with every pass overthrown “Mild thing, you make my butt sting! You make everything SH*TTY!”)
All is then put to rest with a sweet dime to Chaz Schilens on a 60-yard pass that led to a field goal in the 3rd Quarter. Zack Miller also had a somewhat good of a day by catching 2 passes for 56 yards.
Russell went 15-for-33 for 228 yards and an interception.
“You have to grow up fast and I think, with certain situations, you become better,” he said. “It’s tough out there, man — I promise.”
Hell, I bet it is.
The Nation can’t wait to see you back here in Oaktown for some home cooking, Jam.
Not to worry, it’s not like every defense will be as intense as the Ravens..
uh, hopefully.
Baltimore held a 221-35 advantage in first-half yardage in building a 19-0 lead.
“The first half, we just got our tails whipped at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball,” Oakland coach Tom Cable said. “There’s really no other way to put it.”
So what about the second half?
“It’s just challenging them,” Cable said. “I’m going to say this again: We have a good football team that’s got to believe … in itself. That’s where it starts, and it starts with me.”
The Ravens opened the scoring with the first safety against the Raiders since 2000. After Sam Koch punted to the Oakland 7, Russell was sacked by Jameel McClain in the end zone on third down.
Baltimore went up 9-0 in the second quarter. Jim Leonhard returned a punt 46 yards to the Oakland 17 to set up a 1-yard touchdown by Willis McGahee.
It became 16-0 when Flacco found a wide-open Demetrius Williams on the left sideline for a 70-yard touchdown to complete a 97-yard drive that followed an interception by Frank Walker.
Anyone have remedies to feel better about our team’s present situation?
If not, here are some creative suggestions listed by 1 our craziest fans….
Run like hell and exercise. At least you can control some things in life..like your health, sir.
Watch the opening Basketball NBA tipoff on Tuesday. There’s currently a lot of talented teams out there right now…and on the west side? EVERY playoff team’s 500. and up
Go Sharks!
Church always helps with keeping your balance. Don’t even think about praying for wins though…
you know I’ve tried.
Party with your friends at Miyakies in Palo Alto. Once again, Happy Birthday, Tabs!
Keep your heads up, kids. The Sun will shine again.
Peace and Victory,
DR

We just got our butts kick. The O-line , receivers,D-line suck. How could they let that rookie QB look so good. Gabril Wilson is a bust too. All of the Big money that was spent in the off season was a waste. Thanks AL for another wasted season. If you dont get JaMarcus any help he is going to be another Alex Smith. If the Raiders had as much passion as their fans they would be a great team. The defense sucks. their was no pressure on Flacco at all. Tommy Kelly is a waste off money. just like the biggest waste Robert Gallaery. Now I have to go back to work and hear how much my team sucks.

The problem comes right back to the Raider’s past couple of drafts. They have been terrible. They drafted a QB last year and completely ignored a way to protect him. They drafted an RB this year when they didn’t need one and STILL completely ignored a way to open holes for him.
Any knowledgeable football enthusiast will tell you that football is won in the trenches. So why has Al Davis completely ignored his lines for the past years? He spends a fortune on “skill” players but what chance to they have with someone like Kwame Harris blocking for them.
As for Russel, it honestly may not matter whether he has an O-line or not. His biggest problem so far is something that you can’t teach; accuracy. You’re either accurate or not and so far, Russel has shown himself to be totally erratic.
As for McFadden, well, they drafted their RB a year too late when they didn’t need him any more. They should have traded down and drafted Adrian Peterson instead of Russel.
The Raiders would be a lot better off right now if they would have made Andrew Walter their starter and drafted an offensive line. They probably could have had Tony Ugoh and Jon Staley as well as Peterson.
The Raiders could have had a powerful, every-down back instead of a poor-man’s Reggie Bush and they would have a line to open holes for him. Walter has shown himself to be accurate when he has more than 0.3 seconds to throw the ball. He also has a strong arm and can make all the throws.
The bottom line is that the Raiders have actually drafted themselves into a worse team.

Well said JD … their drafting has killed them. You control the trenches … it doesn’t matter who you have at QB or RB … they will look good when you win those battles.

How the mighty have fallen, the Oakland Raiders have been reduced to a former shell of the glory days gone by. No doubt, the Ravens have one of the best defensive teams in recent history and have taken over as one of the most feared defenses in the NFL. Maybe someday the Raiders will learn how to bring some intensity to a football game. It will be a long wait.
