You don’t know the power of the Dark side!

AUGHHHHHH! BEHOLD THE BIGGEST AND BEST GAME OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
JaMarcus Russell was off the chain!! “Road Runner” Johnnie Lee Higgins played like a man possessed! Chris Johnson played like an All Star! The Offense put up 31 damn points!!!!!!
Is this Bizarro World or what??!?!
Whew! Was all of this a dream?!? Was the team replaced by Ghosts from the the Raiders past without us knowing?!?!!
WHO CARES?!?! We beat one of our most hated rivals and LORD does it feel better then payday, Thanksgiving and Christmas combined!

FINALLY, Ashley Lelie and the Oakland Raiders both got their revenge on the Denver Broncos!
The deep-threat receiver who forced a trade out of Denver in 2006 after a bitter holdout returned to Invesco Field on Sunday and helped lead the Raiders to a stunning 31-10 win over the Broncos by catching a touchdown pass and setting up another with a spectacular 51-yard reception.
Rookie Darren McFadden ran for two 1-yard touchdowns and the Raiders (3-8) snapped a four-game losing streak and rectified their 41-14 thrashing at the hands of the Broncos (6-5) in the opener.
In that game, the Broncos repeatedly picked on since-released cornerback DeAngelo Hall, and they went after his replacement, Chris Johnson, with very little success Sunday.
Lelie’s long catch set up McFadden’s first score, which broke a 10-10 tie in the third quarter and snapped a 15-quarter drought for Oakland’s offense.
The Raiders hadn’t scored a touchdown on offense since Oct. 26 against Baltimore.
McFadden’s second 1-yard TD followed linebacker Thomas Howard’s interception of Jay Cutler’s pass at midfield and put the Raiders ahead 31-10.
In between, Lelie caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from JaMarcus Russell, then held his right hand to his ear to take in all the boos from the fans who once adored him.
The Raiders, who had lost seven of eight, also got a punt return for a touchdown from Johnnie Lee Higgins for the second straight week.
After Brett Kern out kicked his coverage with a 60-yard boomer just before halftime, Higgins skittered 89 yards down the Broncos sideline, picking up blocks along the way, including one near the goal line by helmetless teammate Jon Alston, who ran the last 45 yards with his helmet in his left hand.
That gave Oakland a 10-3 halftime lead.
Lelie caught 54 passes for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns during his best NFL season with Denver in 2004, but he hasn’t come close to replicating those numbers since then with the Broncos, the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco Giants or Raiders.
Coming into Sunday’s game at Denver, Lelie was the Raiders’ ninth-leading receiver with seven catches for 105 yards and a touchdown this season.
Against his former team, he caught four passes for 92 yards.
The Broncos stumbled and fumbled their way through the first half but appeared to right themselves when they took the second-half kickoff and covered 85 yards in 13 plays for the tying score.
On fourth-and-1 from the 6, Peyton Hillis, the Broncos’ new 250-pound tailback took the pitch from Cutler and followed left tackle Ryan Clady’s block of Howard into the end zone.
But Russell and Lelie hooked up for 51 yards on the first play of the next drive and it was all downhill for Denver from there.
Matt Prater missed field goals of 47 and 43 yards for Denver in the first half.

You may now thank the Dark side of the Force for those mile high misses..
I’ll wait..

I now sense your optimistic frame of thinking, Nation.
I can only tell you to just be proud with today’s victory.
Let’s worry about tomorrow’s opponent..
tomorrow.

Tonight is a night for celebrating the progression of the Offensive line which made Mr. JR feel FINALLY at ease with this Offense.
Will we ever see the Offense shine as well as they did today????
Only time will tell…

Sleep tight, Raider Nation.
Something is telling me Tom the Turkey will taste even more delicious this Thursday with this beloved win…

EXCELSIOR!!!!

Miami Heat

Another week, another step closer to getting a high draft pick.
Is there any other way to look at this mess of a year?
I can’t stop thinking about the fact that we actually have more to work on this year then last year. Can anyone else remember when we were at LEAST in the top 5 in NFL rushing?
Cable was supposed to CONTINUE making our ground game a dominant force, not neglect it.
Darth Raider as the Oakland Raiders Coach next year, I can see it now…
It’s not like we’re a joke already…

It all seemed too familiar after Dan Carpenter nailed a 38-yard field goal with 38 seconds left to cap a 61-yard drive, and the Dolphins earned their fourth consecutive victory Sunday by defeating the Raiders 17-15.

Johnnie Lee Higgins scored on a 93-yard punt return with 4:30 left to give the Raiders their first lead. Chad Pennington then moved the Dolphins down the field in 10 plays, completing a 7-yard pass on fourth-and-5 to Ted Ginn Jr. to keep the drive alive.
“It was my first fourth-and-5 with a minute or so left in the game,” said Ginn, a second-year pro. “It was probably Chad’s 20th. He’s cool, calm and collected. He went out there and got the job done.”
Oakland (2-8) lost its fourth in a row, and Tom Cable fell to 1-5 as interim coach.
“This is good for us,” Cable said. “It hurts because we lost, but we’re getting closer. We’ve just got to keep pounding away, and we’ll get a break one of these days.”

I’m only afraid that most of the Raider Nation will still be asleep by the time that happens.

The Raiders generated only two field goals on offense, and scored when Jay Richardson sacked Chad Pennington for a safety. They haven’t registered an offensive touchdown in 13 quarters, and reinforcements failed to provide a spark.
Quarterback JaMarcus Russell returned after missing one game with a knee injury, and he went 15-for-22 for 156 yards, but Miami had six sacks. His last pass was a completion to the Oakland 30 before time ran out.
Russell, keep working on getting to the next level, we all still believe in you.
(well, most of us..)
Teammate Darren McFadden, nursing a toe injury that has hampered him most of the season, played for the first time in four games as a reserve. He carried only three times for 13 yards, and the Raiders totaled just 70 yards on the ground.
“You can’t have an offense that doesn’t score points,” running back Justin Fargas said. “We have to pick up our side of it.”
Ginn had a 40-yard touchdown run on an end-around for the Dolphins. They ran for a season-high 222 yards, including 101 by Ronnie Brown in 16 carries.
The Raiders went 2-for-11 on third-down conversations and were out gained 382-186. Still, they nearly pulled out a win thanks to Higgins.
The Dolphins’ punt coverage unit ranks second worst in the NFL, and he found a gaping crease. The closest would-be tackler was the last line of defense, punter Brandon Fields, who slapped Higgins’ heel in an unsuccessful diving attempt to prevent the score that put Oakland ahead 15-14.

“We keep putting ourselves in these dogfights,” Porter said. “You don’t want them to come back and bite you. When you’ve got a team down, you’ve got to figure out how to put them away. Having last-second wins is not something you want to be hoping for every time.”
The Dolphins drove 93 yards on their opening possession and scored on the run by Ginn, who broke one tackle and juked past another defender. Their other touchdown drive covered 64 yards in the third period and was capped by Patrick Cobbs 10-yard run for a 14-5 lead.
The Raiders drove 75 yards late in the first half, but with first-and-goal at the 5, they committed two penalties, lost 5 yards on a broken play and settled for a field goal and a 7-3 halftime deficit.
Sebastian Janikowski had a chance to give Oakland an 8-7 lead in the third quarter, but his 46-yard field goal attempt deflected off the right upright.
The Force almost knocked it in, but even the great Lord of Sith can do so much.

Russell was informed after the game of a death in his family, the Raiders said.
He didn’t talk to reporters.. God be with you, Jam.

Shane Lechler also continues to be one of Oakland’s few bright spots. He averaged 52.7 yards on six kicks, four inside the 20.
Looks like another lonely trip to the Pro Bowl for you, kid.
Nnamdi would make a great travel passenger, but I forsee the NFL screwing #21 again due to our crappy record.
Eh, who knows? Maybe Asomugha will get lucky.

Denver’s next??!?! Please playuh players, cook up something special for me. Bring the pain or remain out of the game!!

Have a great week,

Coming Soon: Darth Scarecrow

A hell of a lot better then last week..
but a loss is still a loss, Nation.
Who knows where we go from here??
If someone told before the game that Delhomme had the stats he had before the game and we’d STILL lose the game?
I wouldn’t of…
nah, I probably would of believed it. I believe we have lost in every single possible way a bad team team could.
Misery loves to become more misery..

” I’m so glad we won, because you want to talk about a long plane ride home? We just didn’t get this team going,” Delhomme said. “It wasn’t a good day offensively, but you know you’re going to have those days, and the great thing about it is we won.”
Delhomme, who had thrown only five interceptions in the first eight games for Carolina (7-2), finished 7-for-27 for 72 yards. The 26 percent completion rate was the worst in any of Delhomme’s 74 starts and he threw four interceptions for just the third time in his career.
He became just the second quarterback since the merger in 1970 to complete fewer than 30 percent of his passes and throw four interceptions in a victory, according to STATS LLC. Cincinnati’s Ken Anderson went 4-for-19 with four interceptions in a 14-10 victory over the Raiders on Oct. 19, 1975.

Andrew Walter, playing in place of an injured JaMarcus Russell, threw two interceptions before leaving temporarily with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter. Marques Tuiasosopo couldn’t do much better in his first appearance in more than two years as Oakland (2-7) lost for the fourth time in five games under interim coach Tom Cable.
Oakland has just nine touchdowns on the season and none in its past 135:36 of game action.
“We couldn’t catch a break,” said Walter, who went 14-for-32 for 143 yards. “It was tough as an offense. We couldn’t get into a rhythm all day. But I thought penalties put us in long down and distances.”
After Johnnie Lee Higgins fumbled the opening kickoff for the Raiders at the 16, Delhomme converted on a 3-yard touchdown pass to Muhsin Muhammad. That was the lone highlight of the day for Delhomme.
Delhomme threw three interceptions in his own territory, but the Panthers got the ball back after the first when Richard Marshall intercepted Walter in the end zone and forced field goals after three plays on the next two picks.
“It is frustrating to get those type of plays, and then three-and-out and you go right back on to the field,” cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha said.
Sebastian Janikowski kicked field goals from 38 and 45 yards after two third-quarter turnovers. The first kick ended a scoring drought of 107:11 and the second gave Janikowski 865 career points, breaking George Blanda’s franchise record of 863. Janikowski missed a 58-yard field-goal attempt with 9 seconds remaining.
The Raiders managed to move the ball more effectively this week than they did when they gained only 77 yards in the worst offensive performance for the team in 47 years in last week’s 24-0 home loss to Atlanta. But with 10 penalties and five sacks, they weren’t able to make it into the end zone.

What else is new?
Not a damn thing..

Let’s all pray Run DMC rejoins the silver and black soon to give us something more to cheer about.
Otherwise, I’m making a Darth Raider Scarecrow in place of mwa for the next home game.
Have a great week,
-DR

Gracias #21, #9 and our Fabulous Females

I’m not sure what to tell you all anymore, Nation. Our team has simply given up.
The fans have given up…
and yes, even you, the die hard….
has finally given up.

I appear to be still here…supporting my half ass team…yelling for my half ass team…encouraging my half ass team…
but I feel I am still missing true intelligence by still believing in what can never transpire…

ah, to be competitive again. A fool can only now dream.
…a fool like me.

I started taking off of my sweaty costume in the middle of the 3rd Quarter. I also started talking to fans near the end of the massacre..
“What would we all rather be doing on a beautiful Sunday afternoon such as this?!?!?!” I yelled.
I heard everything from Fishing, Movies, playing with their Children..
to simply just sleeping.

Lord, does it all sound tempting? You bet it does.

Damn me for being me. I always knew I had a passion for self abuse.

For every fan that still wanted me to put on the mask and play Mr. enthusiastic Clown in the 2nd half?
I’m sorry. The positive energy has been drained from me by the organization, the players and the Owner.
I’m not sure when there will be a better day….
but I just hope I’m still alive to see it.
Have mercy on me, World. This one hurt more than any other.

Matt Ryan threw a pair of first-half touchdown passes to Michael Jenkins and the Falcons held the Raiders to negative yards and no first downs in the first half and their lowest yards total in 47 years in a 24- victory.
In a six-year stretch of losing, embarrassment and new lows in Oakland, Al Davis’ once-proud franchise might have reached a new low this week in front of a half-filled stadium of fans who began booing the Raiders (2-6) just minutes in. Oakland finished with just 77 yards for its worst total since getting 58 in 1961 against the Chargers, when Davis was an assistant in San Diego.
The Falcons (5-3) scored on their first four possessions as Ryan had open receivers to pick from almost every time he dropped back, while Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood had big holes to run through.
Atlanta also posted its first shutout since 2002, preserving it with an interception in the end zone by Erik Coleman midway through the fourth quarter.
Ryan finished 17-of-22 for 220 yards, outplaying JaMarcus Russell in a matchup of the first quarterbacks taken in the past two drafts. Turner added 139 yards on 31 carries.
The misery of 2007 that started with Vick’s guilty plea to federal dogfighting charges and ended when Petrino fled town with three games remaining in his first season as coach is quickly becoming a distant memory.
Led by a rookie quarterback in Ryan and rookie coach Mike Smith, the Falcons have already surpassed last season’s victory total by one at just the halfway point and are in the thick of the race in the NFC.
Ryan bombed on former Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall with a 37-yard touchdown pass to Jenkins to cap the first drive. Stanford Routt then got beat on a corner route for a 27-yard touchdown on the third drive. Norwood added a 12-yard touchdown run and Jason Elam kicked a 48-yard field goal for Atlanta’s other first-half scores that made it 24-0.
The Raiders finally got a stop in the final seconds of the half when Gerard Warren sacked Ryan and forced a fumble that was recovered at the Oakland 23 with 16 seconds remaining. But John Abraham brought down Russell with his third sack to end the half. The Raiders finished the half with minus-2 yards of offense, compared to 309 for Atlanta.
Even attempts at trickery didn’t work for the Raiders, who sent in receiver Ronald Curry at quarterback on the first play of their fourth drive. Before they could even run a play, Robert Gallery was called for a false start and Russell returned.
Justin Fargas 13-yard run with 9:26 to play in the third quarter gave the Raiders their initial first down of the game and led to mock applause from the frustrated crowd. The boos quickly returned when Russell lost a fumble three plays later.
Russell doubled Oakland’s yardage total with a 24-yard scramble in the opening minute of the fourth quarter for the second first down of the game.
The loss was the third blowout in four games under interim coach Tom Cable, whose only win came in overtime at home two weeks ago against the New York Jets. Cable now has the same record that Lane Kiffin had when he was fired after four games.

The only positives?
The Raiderettes, Nnamdi, Shane and the fact that it didn’t rain.

Enjoy the new week, Fans..it’s going to be another long one.

Peace and Obama,
-DR
