When it rains it pours

“Well, that wasn’t so damn bad, was it?”
Chuck Tell me.
“Go F#*%^ yourself..”
Darth Raider tells me.
Darth Raider also told me we might have a shot at beating this horrible team before the regular season even began.
Yes, my alter ego can be quite delusional at times..
but you can’t really blame him for being optimistic in any situation…even in the cold rain.
Lord, it is difficult being me (and him) at times.
I’m betting Jam feels the same way….
“It’s tough to tell the guys to keep fighting, just to keep pushing, that things are going to turn around,” said JaMarcus Russell, who threw two TD passes for Oakland. “Everybody looks at each other like, ‘When?’ It’s really depressing.”
The fans had plenty to boo about, from the ineptness of the home team to every touch by Moss or Jordan, who never fulfilled expectations during their time in Oakland.
Moss arrived with much fanfare after his trade from Minnesota in 2005, getting a police escort on his way to the introductory news conference. Yet he quickly soured in the toxic environment with the Raiders, forcing a trade to New England before last season.
Moss revived his career immediately, setting a record with 23 touchdown catches last season to go with 10 this season.
Moss capped New England’s second drive of the game by beating Rashad Baker to the corner of the end zone for a 20-yard catch before preening for the crowd.
There was a lot of focus in Randy this week,” teammate Wes Welker said. “I think he really wanted to win this game and show what kind of a player he is.”
The only player I ever saw while he was here was a lazy f!#$k who never had any consideration for his teammates.
Former team players usually say hi to each other under the tunnel right before a game.
“What up, Randy? How ya been?” Justin Fargas asked his former teammate this afternoon.
“F*ck You..” Moss replied back.
If that doesn’t give you any indication what kind of player Randy Moss is..I’m not sure what else to tell you.
The Patriots started fast, becoming the first team this season to score touchdowns on its first four offensive possessions. Cassel threw TD passes to Kevin Faulk, Moss and Welker, with Morris also scoring on a 29-yard run.
Ellis Hobbs returned a kick 95 yards for another score, giving New England five touchdowns in the first 17:14 of the game.
“We had some issues with communication there in the first half, getting everything matched up,” Raiders coach Tom Cable said. “We’re not on the same page in terms of communication and that’s something we’ve got to fix.”
The Raiders trailed 21-0 before recording their initial first down. After Justin Fargas’s 1-yard run on third-and-1 was greeted with mock applause, the Raiders generated some real cheers on the next play when Johnnie Lee Higgins caught a 56-yard TD pass for Oakland’s second offensive touchdown in the first half all season.
The Raiders got another score when Justin Miller returned a kick 91 yards following Welker’s touchdown, but that celebration was short-lived when Hobbs answered with his return. That was the third touchdown in a 28-second span.
Commissioner Roger Goodell attended the game. … I’m just hoping he didn’t observe too many fights today. The one I saw about an hour before the game was brutal. Call me sick and twisted, but it’s sure fun as hell watching girls brawl at times..
New England’s 277 yards rushing were its most since getting 281 against Cincinnati in 1985. … The only time the Raiders allowed more points at home came in a 55-21 loss to San Diego in 1981.
Somehow, I still don’t thing those dark years were as bad as THESE dark years…
Pass the Whiskey, Nation..

Does it seem like all the former Raiders go to other team’s (jordan, moss, rhode’s,hall) and they do well.

Those dark years were NOT as bad as these dark years - because there was hope in the ’80s. That loss to San Diego was followed by a championship season 2 years later.
The Raiders have no hope of turning things around until Davis delegates management of the team to someone else. He has pretty much said he will never do that. He keeps on saying that fans will stop complaining if the team wins while refusing to acknowledge that he himself is the reason the team doesn’t win.
Players use anything they can to get up for a game. LJ conveniently forgets the Raiders gave him a chance to be a starter when he was stuck backing up Curtis Martin for the Jets. He has a grudge against the Raiders for not cutting or trading him last season. Whatever. It was a weird Marcus Allen like move on the part of Davis.

6 straight losing seasons of 11 losses or more. This is now the worst franchise in the NFL. Thank you AL.

I’m done! How can I support a team that has forgotten who they are? Football is entertainment. Without fans, there is no NFL, and there is no Raiders. I have not heard from anyone, an explanation for Mr. Davis’ mismanagement of this team, so I must assume that he has lost his ability to affectively lead this organization to be anything more than a toy for him to play with, without regard for the people that pay him, and his employees……..US! The Raiders are the laughing stock of the NFL. Hell even the Lion’s at least put up a fight, and have the will to win. The Raiders have no leadership, no discipline, and no hope for the future, and quite frankly, I can not continue to give money, that is so frickin hard for me to earn in the first place, to this team. Did you ever think about that Mr. Davis? You’re taking my money, and giving me crap in return. I paid for a Cadillac, but you gave me a 71 Pinto. As I said….I’m done. Anyone with me?

the upcoming off season to my mind is the most important in team history.the problems are legion from headcoach to ballboy we need sweeping changes, and as last year proved throwing money at the problem will change not one thing.we need a big name coach who will command respect in the locker room,we need to resolve our qb situation ,jmac is not the qb of the future he is fat ,raw and living in a fantasy land where he gives himself an A for effort after an other mess of a display.we need to completely rebuild o line get wideouts who can run routes ,an oc who will use our weapons (the few we have) a dc who can coach a d line that can tackle and of course a complete attitude change and this must include realistic goals ,fantasy land must be left for fat qb busts

I’ve had it with the garbage product we’ve been forced fed over the years. I’m so close to jumping ship with Blackhole. Me and my friends have been die hard since thier Los Angeles days. We make the yearly trek to Oakland to support our team as well as making the pilgrimage every year to San Diego to support our brothers. But enough is enough, the organization can clean house all they want but as long as Al is still in the drivers seat nothing will ever change. These are hard ass economic times, and I cannot continue to pay my hard earned cash for a product that does not work. Our Raider nation is made up of hard working class people. Many of us have been supporting our beloved team by purchasing tickets and buying merchandise but I’m ready to put my foot down. Becuase as true fans we deserve so much more…

I will always support the raiders although if we do not get father some help up stairs things will stay the same lets get gannon up stairs with father
he could also take russell under his wing and he could show him how to act like mvp qb. cut walker
sign asmougha yesterday. give dmac the rock atleast 15 rushes per game , and acouple of receptions as well
cut burgess he’s no game changer at de. get some o-line
that don’t lead league i f-starts. do this and add a good w-reciever we can go to 8-8 next year?
December 17th, 2008 at 9:48 am
Not reknewing my tickets next year. I suggest everyone else do the same until we get a GM and a head coach with full authority. The Raider till I die stuff just allows Al Davis to maintain the status quo. Let’s hit him where it hurts - $$$$.
December 19th, 2008 at 11:51 am
i suggest to all of the raiders fan to stop buying tickets until al davis let somebody else run the team are teram is the worst team in the nfl
December 20th, 2008 at 12:17 am
Finally, you fans are waking theres such a thing
as blind loyalty and i cant understand how the fans
can continue blowing there money on season tickets
for this current raiders franchise.
like the jethro tull song ‘ LIVING IN THE PAST’
I dont think the glory days will ever return until
al davis is 6 feet under and the entire raiders
organization is completely rebuilt
