Looks like there is one less candidate for the Oakland Superintendent position.

AUSD Board President Bill Schaff issued a press release indicating that the AUSD Board has offered a contract to serve as Superintendent of the Alameda Unified School District to Ms. Kirsten Vital.

Of course, the irony of the Wesley fiasco is that I’ve heard from a number of folks that he actually wasn’t doing a bad job! (Maybe just a perception, but still makes you wonder.)

I could be mistaken, but I believe that RBL Enterprises would be the consulting firm that Dr. Ruth Love, former Superintendent of OUSD, started.

Good point. Emery’s certainly not off the hook in this case. But didn’t CSBA agree to do reference checks of all candidates as well?

Stephen Wesley was an internal candidate so why should CSBA be held accountable for reference checking for an existing employee. Where was the background verfication by Emery when he was hired?
