Skyline high has (fingers crossed!) a new principal

By Katy Murphy
Thursday, July 30th, 2009 at 6:12 pm in high schools, leadership changes.

And I have no idea who it is.

I know, that’s probably of little use to you. I just thought you might like to know that the selection committee selected someone, that school district staff accepted that pick, and that the appointment will be made official at the Aug. 12 school board meeting.

District spokesman Troy Flint said a decision was made to keep the name quiet until then. I don’t know if that’s possible, but I imagine that’s to avoid what happened last time.

Until then, as always, I welcome any info. You can reach me at kmurphy@bayareanewsgroup.com.

    Katy-

Have you heard anything about Oakland High?

Last I heard, in late June, Debra Marker was going to be principal of Oakland High. Has something changed?

You are all aware that Ms. Klaffky was recently named principal of Leadership Public Schools in Hayward, a high school of about 400 kids. Charter School. Seems like Oakland was a little to slow perhaps.

Katy, I heard that Debra Marker decided not to take the Oakland High position. Perhaps you can look into it?
